Bartlomiej Oles
Bartlomiej Brat Oles (born 1973 in Sosnowiec, Poland) is a jazz and free improvisation drummer, composer and record producer. He is the twin brother of Marcin Oles and Art-director of the Polish independent Jazz Label Fenommedia. Career Bartlomiej Oles studied classic percussion at Music High School Łódź. From 1988 he play on drum set. Ken Vandermark
Ken Vandermark (born September 22, 1964) is an American composer, saxophonist, and clarinetist. A fixture on the Chicago-area music scene since the 1990s, Vandermark has earned wide critical praise for his playing and his multilayered compositions, which typically balance intricate orchestration with passionate improvisation. He has led or been a member of many groups, has collaborated with many other musicians, and was awarded a 1999 MacArthur Fellowship. He plays tenor saxophone, clarinet, bass clarinet, and baritone saxophone. He was also a member of NRG Ensemble. Hathut Records is a Swiss record company and label founded by Werner Xavier Uehlinger in 1974 that specializes in jazz and classical music. Stanley Jordan
Stanley Jordan (born July 31, 1959) is an American jazz guitarist noted for his playing technique, which involves tapping his fingers on the fretboard of the guitar with both hands. Music career Jordan was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States. When he was six, he started on piano, then at eleven switched to guitar. He later began playing in rock and soul bands. In 1976, he won an award at the Reno Jazz Festival. At Princeton University, he studied music theory and composition with Milton Babbitt and computer music with Paul Lansky. He also took freshman calculus with Edward Nelson. While at Princeton he played with Benny Carter and Dizzy Gillespie. In 1985, Bruce Lundvall became president of Blue Note Records and Stanley Jordan was the first person he signed. Adam Pierończyk
Adam Pierończyk (born 24 January 1970) is a Polish jazz saxophonist and composer. He plays tenor and soprano saxophones, as well as the zoucra. Early life Pierończyk was born in Elblag, Poland, on 24 January 1970. He learned the piano for three years from the age of eight, and later switched to saxophone. After moving with his parents to Germany, he "enrolled in the jazz department at the Higher Music School". Later life and career Pierończyk has won awards from the Polish magazine ''Jazz Forum'': New Hope of Polish Jazz in 1997, and the readers' choice as Best Soprano Saxophonist in 2003 and 2004. Anthony Coleman
Anthony Coleman (born August 30, 1955) is an avant-garde jazz pianist. During the 1980s and 1990s he worked with John Zorn on '' Cobra'', ''Kristallnacht'', ''The Big Gundown'', ''Archery'', and ''Spillane'' and helped push modern Jewish music into the 21st century. Rudi Mahall (born December 23, 1966) is a contemporary jazz bass clarinetist. While studying classical clarinet, Mahall shifted towards contemporary music, improvisation and jazz. Mircea Tiberian (born May 4, 1955 in Cluj, Romania) is a jazz musician and professor of music at the National University of Music in Bucharest. He coordinates the Jazz Department, which he set up in 1991. Andrzej Przybielski
Andrzej Grzegorz Przybielski (August 9, 1944 – February 9, 2011) was a Polish jazz trumpeter associated with the avant-garde jazz and free jazz scenes. Career Having graduated from the Technic School of Bydgoszcz, Andrzej Przybielski started with traditional jazz, playing with Bogdan Ciesielski and Jacek Bednarek within the "Traditional Jazz group". Until the mid-60s, he played cornet and trumpet, specializing in blues and Dixieland music, his inspiration coming from Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis. Emmanuelle is the lead character in a series of French erotic films based on the main character in the novel ''Emmanuelle'' (1959), created by Emmanuelle Arsan.
