Bartholomeus Johannes van Hove (October 28, 1790 in The Hague – November 8, 1880 in The Hague) was a Dutch painter and the father of Hubertus van Hove. He played an important role in the development of 19th-century painting by his many disciples. He was able to teach his skills to a large group of artists, of whom especially Johannes Bosboom and Jan Hendrik Weissenbruch would rise to great heights. Bartholomeus Assteyn
Bartholomeus Abrahamsz. Assteyn (1607 in Dordrecht – 1669–1677 probably Dordrecht) was a Dutch painter. Bartholomeus Assteyn was the son of a painter from Ghent, Abraham Bartholomeusz. In the year 1631 he became a member in the Dordrecht's Saint Lukas painter guild. Assteyn lived with his family in Vriesestraat. In 1651 he was registered as an accountant for the local painter brotherhood. His exact death date is not known; his last authenticated work dates from the year 1669. Assteyn was a productive artist. Although he is not considered to be innovative, he created noteworthy still lifes. Bartholomeus Meyburgh (1628–1708), also spelt Meijburch, Meyburch, and Meyburg, was a Dutch Golden Age painter known for his portraits and religious works. Biography Bartholomeus Meyburgh was born in Maassluis or The Hague, Netherlands, probably in 1628, although some sources have suggested 1623, 1624 and 1625. His surname has been variously spelt Meijburch, Meyburch, and Meyburg. Bartholomeus de Jager was a Dutch corsair active in the Caribbean in the 1650s. Campaign against the Portuguese (1655) In 1655, de Jager boarded and looted the Portuguese ship the ''Consciencia'', taking its cargo of sugar.
