Barry Shils
Barry Shils is an American film director and producer. He is best known for directing and producing the films ''Motorama (film), Motorama'' and ''Wigstock: The Movie'', and for producing ''Vampire's Kiss'' starring Nicolas Cage. Early life Born in Philadelphia, Shils became an integral part of the vibrant downtown New York City art scene in the late 1970s and early 1980s. A graduate of Yale University, he is the son of academic, Dr. Edward B. Shils (deceased 2004) a professor at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and Founder of the Wharton Entrepreneurial Center. Shils' grandparents on both sides were first generation Americans of Russian Jewish descent. Career Shils' films and videos from this period are part of the New York Museum of Modern Art collection. UCLA Film Archive
The UCLA Film & Television Archive is a visual arts organization focused on the preservation, study, and appreciation of film and television, based at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Also a nonprofit exhibition venue, the archive screens over 400 films and videos a year, primarily at the Billy Wilder Theater, located inside the Hammer Museum in Westwood, California. ''A Return to Salem's Lot'' is a 1987 American vampire film co-written and directed by Larry Cohen and starring Michael Moriarty, Andrew Duggan, Samuel Fuller, Evelyn Keyes, and June Havoc. A theatrical sequel to the 1979 miniseries '' Salem's Lot'', the film follows an anthropologist and his son who encounter supernatural incidents and vampirism in the small town of Salem's Lot. Cohen had previously written a screenplay for the 1979 ''Salem's Lot'' miniseries that had been rejected by Warner Bros. at the time. Years later, the studio approached Cohen to write and direct a low-budget feature for them; he proposed a sequel to ''Salem's Lot''. The Hammer Museum
The Hammer Museum, located in Haines, Alaska, U.S., is the first museum in the world dedicated to hammers. The museum was founded in 2002 and became a non-profit organization in 2004. It features over 1,400 hammers and related tools, ranging from ancient times through the colonial days to the industrial era. It has 8,000 artifacts still in storage.
