Barry Johnson (hurler)
Barry Johnson (born 17 June 1984) is an Irish hurler. His National Hurling League and All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship career with the Cork senior hurling team lasted one season. Born in Bartlemy, County Cork, Johnson first played hurling and Gaelic football with the Bride Rovers club. After playing in both codes in juvenile and underage grades at a divisional level, he won a Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship medal in 2003, having earlier won a county intermediate championship medal. Johnson made his debut on the inter-county scene at the age of nineteen when he was selected for the Cork intermediate team. He won an All-Ireland medal as a non-playing substitute in 2004. Johnson later joined the Cork senior team as captain of the team during the 2008–09 senior hurling team strike. Bride Rovers
Bride Rovers GAA is a Gaelic games club located in the villages of Rathcormac and Bartlemy in east County Cork, Republic of Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football and hurling teams in Cork GAA and Imokilly GAA divisional competitions. They were runners up in the Cork senior hurling championship in 2008 to winners Sarsfields. The 2003 Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship was the 94th staging of the Cork Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Cork County Board in 1909. The championship began on 20 April 2014 and ended on 12 October 2014. Midleton were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Douglas in round four. Courcey Rovers were relegated from the championship after three seasons in the top tier. Sarsfield's won the title after a 2–18 to 0–8 defeat of Glen Rovers in the final. The 2013 Cork Senior Hurling Championship was the 125th staging of the Cork Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment in 1887. The championship began on 26 March 2013 and ended on 3 November 2013. Sarsfield's were the defending champions and made it all the way to the final, however, they were defeated by Midleton on a 2–15 to 2–13 score line. Pre-championship Sarsfield's were installed as the early favourites to retain the title for a fourth time in six years and put back-to-back titles together for the first time in their history. Midleton and Cork Institute of Technology were regarded as the two teams that could provide the strongest challenge to Sarsfield's supremacy once again.
