Barry Harman
Barry Michael Harman (born March 14, 1952) is an American writer and producer for television and a book writer and lyricist for Broadway theater. He wrote and directed the Broadway musical ''Romance/Romance'', which starred actor Scott Bakula and actress Alison Fraser, and which received five Tony Award nominations (including Best Musical, Best Lyrics, and Best Book), four Outer Critics Circle Awards and a Drama Desk nomination for Best Lyrics. He was nominated for a 1992 Joseph Jefferson Award for Director of a Musical for ''Romance/Romance'' at the Apple Tree Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. His off-Broadway musical ''Olympus On My Mind'', won him an Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Lyrics and received three Drama Desk nominations. His work in television includes winning Emmy Awards on his first professional job, working a staff writer on ''The Carol Burnett Show''. The Carol Burnett Show
''The Carol Burnett Show'' is an American variety/sketch comedy television show that originally ran on CBS from September 11, 1967, to March 29, 1978, for 279 episodes, and again with nine episodes in fall 1991. It starred Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence, and Lyle Waggoner. In 1975, frequent guest star Tim Conway became a regular after Waggoner left the series. In 1977, Dick Van Dyke replaced Korman but it was agreed that he was not a match and he left after 10 episodes. The series originated in CBS Television City's Studio 33, and won 25 primetime Emmy Awards. ''Allegra's Window'' is an American children's television series that aired on Nickelodeon through its Nick Jr. block from October 24, 1994, to December 8, 1996, with reruns being shown until February 5, 1999; it was later shown on Noggin from February 2, 1999, to April 6, 2003. The series deals with the daily life of a precocious, imaginative puppet character named Allegra, and featured live actors, puppets and animation similar to that of ''Sesame Street''. ''Clifford the Big Red Dog'' is an American children's book series about the adventures of a precocious girl named Emily Elizabeth and her titular pet: a giant, red-furred dog named Clifford. The Joseph Jefferson Award, more commonly known informally as the Jeff Award, is given for theatre arts produced in the Chicago area. Founded in 1968, the awards are named in tribute to actor Joseph Jefferson, a 19th-century American theater star who, as a child, was a player in Chicago's first theater company. Two types of awards are given: "Equity" (annual judging season August 1st to July 31st) for work done under an Actors' Equity Association contract, and "Non-Equity" (annual judging season April 1st to March 31st) for non-union work.
