Barry Goldwater Jr.
Barry Morris Goldwater Jr. (born July 15, 1938) is an American businessman and politician. He is a former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from California, serving from 1969 to 1983. He is the son of U.S. Senator and 1964 Republican presidential nominee Barry Goldwater. Early life Goldwater was born in Los Angeles, California on July 15, 1938, the son of Barry M. Goldwater and his wife Margaret Johnson. He graduated from Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, Virginia, in 1957. Goldwater attended the University of Colorado, and graduated from Arizona State University in 1962. He then worked as a stockbroker, public relations executive, and in import-export business, before being elected to Congress. In 1972, he married Susan Lee Gherman, daughter of Dr. E. Early life and education Born Roberta Frances Horowitz in Santa Monica, California on April 22, 1937, Fiedler attended area public schools. California's 20th Congressional District
California's 20th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of California. The district is currently represented by Democrat Jimmy Panetta. It encompasses much of the Central Coast region. The district includes Monterey and San Benito counties, most of Santa Cruz County, and portions of Santa Clara County. Prior to redistricting in 2011, the 20th district was located in the San Joaquin Valley. It covered Kings County and portions of Fresno and Kern counties, including most of the city of Fresno. That area is now largely divided between the 21st and 16th districts, while most of the current 20th was within the former 17th. Redistricting in 2022 returned the district to the San Joaquin Valley. The new 20th district includes parts of Kern, Tulare, Kings, and Fresno counties. John Kalar Van de Kamp (February 7, 1936 – March 14, 2017) was an American politician and lawyer who served as Los Angeles County District Attorney from 1975 until 1981, and then as the 28th Attorney General of California from 1983 until 1991.
