Baron Gyllenhaal till Härlingstorp ( sv, Friherre Gyllenhaal till Härlingstorp), is a title in the Swedish nobility. It was created in 1843 for Lars Herman Gyllenhaal, a member of the Gyllenhaal family. He was the sixth Swedish Prime Minister for Justice. History There was also a hereditary title of solely Baron Gyllenhaal ( sv, Friherre Gyllenhaal) in the Swedish nobility, which was created in 1837 for Carl Henrik Gyllenhaal, that went extinct in 1910. Baron Lars Herman Gyllenhaal (1790–1858) was a Swedish civil servant, politician, '' friherre'' and a Lord of the Realm. Gyllenhaal was "president," in the Göta Court of Appeals 1836–1855, Prime Minister for Justice 1843–1844. Again chief justice in the Göta court of appeal from 28 December 1844 to 3 April 1855. The Swedish nobility ( sv, Adeln eller Ridderskapet och Adeln) has historically been a legally and/or socially privileged class in Sweden, and part of the so-called ''frälse'' (a derivation from Old Swedish meaning ''free neck''). The archaic term for nobility, ''frälse'', also included the clergy, a classification defined by tax exemptions and representation in the diet (the Riksdag). Today the nobility does not maintain its former legal privileges although family names, titles and coats of arms are still protected. Prime Minister For Justice
The Minister for Justice ( sv, justitieminister) is the justice minister of Sweden and head of the Ministry of Justice. The current Minister for Justice is Gunnar Strömmer of the Moderate Party. History The office was instituted in 1809 as a result of the constitutional Instrument of Government promulgated in the same year. Until 1876 the office was called Prime Minister for Justice ( sv, justitiestatsminister), similar to the office of Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs ( sv, utrikesstatsminister). Until 1840, the Prime Minister for Justice also served as a member of the Supreme Court. Following the ministry reform in 1840, the Prime Minister for Justice became head of the newly instituted Ministry of Justice.
