Assam Legislative Assembly
The Assam Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the Indian state of Assam. It is housed in Guwahati, the capital city of Assam, geographically situated in present Western Assam region. Sheikh Chand Mohammad
Sheikh Chand Mohammad (1 March 1931 – 11 May 2019) was an Indian lawyer and politician belonging to Indian National Congress. He was elected twice as a member of Assam Legislative Assembly. He was the speaker and deputy speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly too. Biography Chand Mohammad was born on 1 March 1931. His father's name was Aladar Ali and his mother's name was Fulashree Bibi. The Janata Party ( JP, lit. ''People's Party'') was a political party that was founded as an amalgam of Indian political parties opposed to the Emergency that was imposed between 1975 and 1977 by Prime Minister Indira Gandhi of the Indian National Congress. Pulakesh Barua
Pulakesh Barua is an Indian politician from the state of Assam. He had formed the Natun Asom Gana Parishad (NAGP), a regional political party in 1991 along with Dinesh Goswami and Bhrigu Kumar Phukan but merged the party with the AGP in 1994. Bhumidhar Barman
Bhumidhar Barman (12 October 1931 – 18 April 2021) was an Indian Politician belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was the Chief Minister of Assam from 22 April 1996 to 14 May 1996. He was a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly being elected 7 times. He was first elected in 1967. In 2015, he was made a Cabinet Minister of Assam. Asom Gana Parishad
Asom Gana Parishad (translation: ''Assam People's Council'', AGP) is a state political party in Assam, India. The AGP was formed after the historic Assam Accord of 1985 and formally launched at the Golaghat Convention held from 13–14 October 1985 in Golaghat, that let Prafulla Kumar Mahanta to be elected as the youngest chief minister of the state.
