Céline Baril (born 1953) is a Canadian artist and film director. Early life Baril was born in Gentilly, Quebec. In 1982, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in degree from the Université du Québec à Montréal. Maurice Baril
Joseph Gérard Maurice Baril, (born September 22, 1943) is a retired General officer in the Canadian Forces, a Military Advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General & head of the Military Division of the Department of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations from 1992 to 1997, and Chief of the Defence Staff in Canada from 1997 to 2001. Early life He was born in Saint-Albert, Quebec, in 1943 and studied at the University of Ottawa from 1961 to 1964, becoming an officer in the Canadian Army in 1963. Military career Baril served with the Royal 22nd Regiment from 1964 to 1968. From 1968 to 1971, he served with The Canadian Airborne Regiment in Valcartier, Quebec and Edmonton, Alberta. He commanded land forces in Cyprus and Lahr, Germany, served at Department of National Defence headquarters in Ottawa, Ecole Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr in Paris and as Commander of the Combat Training Centre at CFB Gagetown. Robert Baril is a stand-up comedian and radio talk-show host from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has released two albums on Stand Up! Records, ''Sex and Politics'' and ''TMI'', both produced by Grammy winner Dan Schlissel. He was the host of ''Laughing Matters'' on AM950 in Minneapolis. Early life Baril was born in Roseau, Minnesota and raised in the nearby town of Warroad. He attended Warroad High School, where he first performed in plays and did his first stand-up act. He graduated from Bemidji State University with a degree in political science and philosophy. He moved to Minneapolis in 2009. While launching his stand-up career he worked as a substitute teacher. Career Much of Baril's stand-up comedy is informed by his liberal political views, with a style inspired by political comics Dennis Miller, Colin Quinn, and Jon Stewart, as well as Garry Shandling and Carol Burnett.
