Bari Light
Bari Light, also known as Punta San Cataldo di Bari Lighthouse ( it, Faro di Punta San Cataldo di Bari) is an active lighthouse placed at the base of Molo San Cataldo, on the west side of the harbour of Bari on the Adriatic Sea, in the southern region of Apulia, Italy. Description The lighthouse, built in 1869, consists of an octagonal stone tower, high, with balcony and lantern, rising from a 2-storey keeper's house. It is the 24th tallest "traditional lighthouse" in the world. The tower, characterized by six windows aligned on the seaward side, is painted white and the lantern dome in grey metallic. The light is positioned at above sea level and emits three white flashes in a 20 seconds period, visible up to a distance of . The lighthouse is completely automated and managed by the Marina Militare with the identification code number 3706 E.F. Bari ( , ; nap, label= Barese, Bare ; lat, Barium) is the capital city of the Metropolitan City of Bari and of the Apulia region, on the Adriatic Sea, southern Italy. The Adriatic Sea () is a body of water separating the Italian Peninsula from the Balkan Peninsula. Light Characteristic
A light characteristic is all of the properties that make a particular navigational light identifiable. Graphical and textual descriptions of navigational light sequences and colours are displayed on nautical charts and in Light Lists with the chart symbol for a lighthouse, lightvessel, buoy or sea mark with a light on it. Different lights use different colours, frequencies and light patterns, so mariners can identify which light they are seeing.
