Barelaked Nadies
''Barelaked Nadies'' is the second DVD release from Canadian band Barenaked Ladies, though it is the first full-length release. It is a compilation of their music videos from 1991–2002, with one exclusion: the video for the '' Rock Spectacle'' version of "Brian Wilson" is missing, and the '' Gordon'' version is chronologically in its place. The title of the video is a mashup of the name "Barenaked Ladies". The DVD includes video commentary on each video from the band, recorded at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, as well as live concert footage taken from the 2001 Great Guinness Toast pay-per-view. Barenaked Ladies
Barenaked Ladies is a Canadian rock band formed in 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario. The band developed a following in Canada, with their self-titled 1991 cassette becoming the first independent release to be certified gold in Canada. They reached mainstream success in Canada when their debut with Reprise Records, ''Gordon'', featuring the singles "If I Had $1000000" and " Brian Wilson", was released in 1992. The band's popularity subsequently spread into the US, beginning with versions of "Brian Wilson" and "The Old Apartment" off their 1996 live album ''Rock Spectacle'', followed by their fourth studio album '' Stunt'', their breakout success in 1998. The album featured their highest-charting hit, "One Week", as well as "It's All Been Done" and "Call and Answer". "Get in Line" is a song by Canadian alternative rock group Barenaked Ladies. It was released in 1999 from the soundtrack of the TV series ''King of the Hill''. The song was released on October 11, 1999, and later appeared on the band's compilation release, ''Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits (1991–2001)''. "Get in Line" reached number 18 in Canada and number 28 on the US ''Billboard (magazine), Billboard'' Adult Top 40. The CD cover features the face of ''King of the Hill'' character Dale Gribble. Music video The music video, the first of many of the group's videos directed by Phil Harder, features the band playing the song live action in the setting of ''King of the Hill''. Call And Answer
"Call and Answer" is a song by the Canadian group Barenaked Ladies. It was the third single from their highly successful 1998 album ''Stunt'' (the song "Alcohol" had been previously released to radio stations, but was not sold commercially as a single). When released as a single, the song was both remixed and edited into a radio mix which cut from the second verse to the third chorus, skipping a chorus, an instrumental break and the third verse. The remix was a slight adjustment of EQ and levels; not a comprehensive remix involving adding or replacing musical elements. This version was also included on the soundtrack for the film ''EdTV''. The song was written by Steven Page and his longtime collaborator, Stephen Duffy. All of the vocals in the song are performed by Page; this includes overlapping vocals, harmonies and octaves, and a call-and-response chorus. "It's All Been Done" is a song by Canadian alternative rock group Barenaked Ladies. It was released as the second single from their 1998 album, ''Stunt''. The song was successful in Canada, peaking at 1 on the ''RPM'' Top Singles chart and becoming the band's highest-charting song in their native country. "The Old Apartment" is a song by the Canadian alternative rock group Barenaked Ladies. It was the band's first entry on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and first Mainstream Top 40 hit, appearing on the albums ''Born on a Pirate Ship'', ''Rock Spectacle'' and '' Disc One: All Their Greatest Hits''. The music video for the song, which garnered a Best Director nomination at the 1997 MuchMusic Video Awards, was directed by fellow Canadian and fan Jason Priestley at his own suggestion. Composition Steven Page has said the song was partly inspired by "Back to the Old House" by The Smiths. Scott Kalvert (August 15, 1964 – March 5, 2014) was an American film director, known mainly for his 1995 film ''The Basketball Diaries (film), The Basketball Diaries'', starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Mark Wahlberg, and 2002's ''Deuces Wild'', starring Stephen Dorff and Brad Renfro.
