Barden, Craven
Barden is a civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It consists of the hamlet of Drebley and a few scattered houses in Wharfedale in the Yorkshire Dales. The parish also includes two areas of moorland, Barden Fell to the east of the River Wharfe and Barden Moor to the west of the river. Both moorlands are access land, and are popular with walkers. Barden Fell rises to the prominent peak of Simon's Seat, and Barden Moor includes two scenic 19th century reservoirs. Much of the parish is on the Bolton Abbey estate. The parish is sparsely populated. At the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish was less than 100, and the census statistics for the parish were therefore merged with those of the adjoining civil parish of Hazlewood with Storiths. In 2015, North Yorkshire County Council estimated that the population of the parish was 90. Barden is derived from the Old English ''berdene'', and means the ''valley where the barley is grown''. Amelia Barden
Amelia Mullane (née Barden; born 17 April 1993) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for Collingwood and for Carlton in the AFL Women's (AFLW). Early life and state football Mullane started playing football at her school Eltham College and in 2011 joined VFLW club Diamond Creek, where she played for five years. During that time she won the 2012 VFLW premiership with Diamond Creek, under the coaching of her father, and twice won the club's best and fairest award. Mullane attributes her strengths of blocking and tackling to her three brothers knocking her around when they were growing up. During the off-season between the 2017 and 2018 AFLW seasons, Mullane played for Diamond Creek in the VFLW. She played in nine games leading up to the grand final, but they lost the premiership match to Darebin Falcons. Brian David Barden (born April 2, 1981) is an American former professional baseball infielder. He played for the Arizona Diamondbacks, St. Louis Cardinals, and Florida Marlins of Major League Baseball (MLB), and for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Early life Barden went to St. Pius X Elementary School and attended St. Augustine High School in San Diego's North Park neighborhood and Oregon State University. He is known for his classification of the simply connected compact 5-manifolds and, together with Barry Mazur and John R. Stallings, for having proved the s-cobordism theorem. Barden received his Ph.D. from Cambridge in 1964 under the supervision of C. T. C. Wall. Gary John Barden (born 27 August 1955, Royal Tunbridge Wells, England) is an English singer-songwriter, best known for his work with Michael Schenker Group. Barden was discovered by Schenker upon the guitarist's hearing a demo of Barden's previous band, Fraser Nash. Barden proceeded to appear on ''The Michael Schenker Group'' (1980), ''MSG'' (1981) and ''One Night at Budokan'' (1981) albums. He was asked to leave the group and was replaced briefly by former Rainbow frontman Graham Bonnet. In the interim, Barden worked with Gary Moore on the demos of what would later become Moore's '' Corridors of Power'' album and joined MSG again to conclude the band's tour after Bonnet's departure and recorded the next album '' Built to Destroy'' (1983), and the live album ''Rock Will Never Die'' (1984).
