Barbara Smith Warner
Barbara Smith Warner (born 1967) is a Democratic politician from the U.S. state of Oregon. She serves in the Oregon House of Representatives representing District 45, which includes northeastern Portland, and Maywood Park. Early life and career Born Barbara Smith in Erie, Pennsylvania, she is a graduate of Gannon University. She worked as a labor organizer in Washington, DC, ran the Oregon House Democratic Caucus, and served as a labor liaison for Senator Ron Wyden and has been active as a community organizer for affordable health care and education access. Political career In November 2013, Michael Dembrow resigned from his seat in the Oregon House of Representatives when he was appointed to fill Jackie Dingfelder's seat in the Oregon Senate. Multnomah County Commissioners appointed Smith Warner to fill Dembrow's seat in the Oregon House a few weeks later. Rose City Park is a neighborhood (and a park of the same name) in Northeast Portland, Oregon. It borders Beaumont-Wilshire, Grant Park, and the Hollywood District on the west (at NE 47th Avenue), Cully on the north (at NE Fremont Street), Roseway and Madison South on the east (at NE 65th Avenue), and Center on the south (at the Banfield Expressway and MAX transit line). The Government of Portland, Oregon is based on a city commission government system. Elected officials include the mayor, commissioners, and a city auditor. The mayor and commissioners (members of City Council) are responsible for legislative policy and oversee the various bureaus that oversee the day-to-day operation of the city.
