Barbara Beckett (born ''c.'' 1955) is a Northern Irish badminton player. Biography Barbara Beckett won her first titles in 1973 at both the Irish Championships and the Irish Open. In the same year she also won at Welsh International. In 1980 she was first at the Scottish Open. In total, she won 20 national titles. She was coached by Cyril W. Wilkinson. Irish Open (badminton)
The Irish International or Irish Open in badminton is an international open held in Ireland since 1902 and is thereby one of the oldest badminton tournaments in the world. It was however interrupted by the two World Wars. This tournament is currently a part of the European Badminton Circuit and takes place at the end of November every year as part of the home nations loop of international tournaments that include the Scottish Open and the Welsh Open in consecutive weeks. The tournament for most part and in recent years has been an International Challenge rated event. The recent exception was in 2012, 2017 & 2018 when the tournament was downgraded to International Series due to funding. Recent editions have been held in the Baldoyle Badminton Centre except for 2007 and 2011 tournaments which were held in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Adrian Hanbury Bell (4 October 1901 – 5 September 1980) was an English ruralism, ruralist journalist and farmer, and the first compiler of ''The Times'' crossword. Yvonne Kelly (born ''c.'' 1935) is an Irish badminton player. Biography Yvonne Kelly is the daughter of badminton player Billy Kelly. Kelly won her first titles at the Irish National Badminton Championships in 1956. She won the Irish Open for the first time two years later, and the Scottish Open in 1963. In total, she won 25 national titles and the Irish Open 10 times. She won mixed doubles with Cyril W. Wilkinson 7 times from 1962 to 1971.
