Barbados Women's National Cricket Team
The Barbados women's cricket team is the women's representative cricket team of the country of Barbados. They compete in the Women's Super50 Cup and the Twenty20 Blaze. They have won four Super50 Cup titles and two Twenty20 Blaze titles. In 2022, the team competed at the Commonwealth Games, playing three Twenty20 Internationals. History Barbados joined the West Indies domestic structure for its inaugural season in 1975–76, playing in the Federation Championships. They managed one victory that season, beating Grenada by an innings and 83 runs. The following season, 1977, they again won one match and finished 3rd out of 5 teams. Hayley Matthews
Hayley Kristen Matthews (born 19 March 1998) is a Barbadian sportswoman. She plays international cricket for the West Indies as an all-rounder, batting right-handed and bowling right-arm off break. She plays domestic cricket for Barbados, Barbados Royals and Melbourne Renegades, and has previously played for Tasmania, Lancashire Thunder, Southern Vipers, Loughborough Lightning, Velocity and Hobart Hurricanes. She has also represented Barbados in the javelin throw at several international track and field competitions. 2016 Regional Women's Championship
The 2016 Regional Women's Championship was a 50-over women's cricket competition that took place in the West Indies. It took place in July 2016, with 6 teams taking part and all matches taking place in Guyana. Trinidad and Tobago won the tournament, on better qualifying record after the final against Barbados was rained-off. Off spin is a type of finger spin bowling in cricket. A bowler who uses this technique is called an off spinner. Off spinners are right arm, right-handed spin bowling, spin bowlers who use their fingers to spin the ball. Fast bowling (also referred to as pace bowling) is one of two main approaches to bowling in the sport of cricket, the other being spin bowling. Trishan Holder (born 8 November 2003) is a Barbadian cricketer who currently plays for Barbados and the West Indies. She plays as a right-handed batter. Domestic career Holder made her debut for Barbados on 18 June 2022, against Jamaica in the Women's Super50 Cup. She went on to play three matches in the tournament as her side won the title. Net run rate (NRR) is a statistical method used in analysing teamwork and/or performance in cricket. It is the most commonly used method of ranking teams with equal points in limited overs league competitions, similar to goal difference in football. The NRR in a single game is the average runs per over that team scores, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them. The NRR in a tournament is the average runs per over that a team scores across the whole tournament, minus the average runs per over that is scored against them across the whole tournament. This is the same as the weighted average of the run rates scored in each match (weighted by the lengths of the innings batted compared to the other innings batted), minus the weighted average of the run rates conceded in each match (weighted by the lengths of the innings bowled compared to the other innings bowled).
