Barauli Rao is a town, panchayat block and Vidhansabha constituency in Aligarh district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. A zamindar ( Hindustani: Devanagari: , ; Persian: , ) in the Indian subcontinent was an autonomous or semiautonomous ruler of a province. The term itself came into use during the reign of Mughals and later the British had begun using it as a native synonym for “estate”. The term means ''land owner'' in Persian. Raja, Rao Raj Kunwar Singh (17 November 1897 – 1968) was a noted zamindar, known as Raja of Barauli Rao and member of legislative assembly in British India.
