Yoshimitsu Banno
was a Japanese film director, best known for the cult-classic '' Godzilla vs. Hedorah'' (1971), which he directed and co-wrote. Banno was a special guest at G-Fest XII in 2005. He was an executive producer on Legendary Pictures's American ''Godzilla'' films, ''Godzilla'' (2014), '' Godzilla: King of the Monsters'' (2019), and '' Godzilla vs. Kong'' (2021). He died of subarachnoid hemorrhage in 2017. ''King of the Monsters'' was dedicated to his memory along with Haruo Nakajima. Yutaka Banno
is a Japanese politician of the Democratic Party of Japan, a member of the House of Representatives in the Diet (national legislature). A native of Nagoya, Aichi he attended Nagoya Institute of Technology both as undergraduate and graduate. Upon graduation, he joined Japanese National Railways in 1985 and JR Central is the main railway company operating in the Chūbu (Nagoya) region of central Japan. It is officially abbreviated in English as JR Central and in Japanese as JR Tōkai ( ja, JR東海, links=no).
