William Augustus Banks III (born March 11, 1956) is an American athlete. Born at Travis Air Force Base, California, he grew up in San Diego County and went to Oceanside High School. Banks is an Eagle Scout. Track and Field Banks was a track & field athlete competing in the triple jump. On June 16, 1985 he set a world record of 17.97 m (58 feet 11.5 inches) at the national championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. He finished second in the NCAA Championships in 1977 and 1978. He earned his B.A. and Juris Doctor (J.D.) from UCLA. He broke the American triple jump record in 1981. He qualified for the 1980 U.S. Olympic team but did not compete due to the U.S. Olympic Committee's boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, Russia. Tommy Banks (footballer)
Thomas Banks (born 10 November 1929) is an English retired footballer who played as a left back. He was born at Farnworth, Lancashire. He played for Bolton Wanderers from 1947 to 1961 and was a member of the 1958 FA Cup winning team when Bolton beat Manchester United. He also played six matches for the England national team in 1958, including all four matches in the 1958 FIFA World Cup. He got his opportunity in the England team because of the death of incumbent left-back Roger Byrne in the Munich Air Disaster in February 1958. Despite strong performances in the World Cup, he made only a single appearance for England after the tournament, as he was hampered by a persistent hamstring injury which ultimately curtailed his career. Tom Banks (American Football)
Thomas Banks (born August 20, 1948) is a former American football center who played ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL). Banks played college football for the Auburn Tigers, and was then selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 1970 NFL Draft. He played for the Cardinals from 1971 through 1980, sitting out the 1970 season due to a knee injury. Banks was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, and played a total of 116 NFL games, missing all but one game of the 1974 season after sustaining a knee injury in the season opener that required surgery. Banks later played with the Birmingham Stallions of the United States Football League in 1983 and 1984. In 1999, Banks was named to the 50th Anniversary Senior Bowl All-Time Team, having played in the 1970 edition of the game. Steve Banks (footballer)
Steven Banks (born 9 February 1972) is an English football player and coach. Banks played as a goalkeeper for clubs in the English and Scottish leagues, including Gillingham, Blackpool, Wimbledon and Heart of Midlothian. He achieved the unusual feat of winning the Scottish Cup with three clubs, although he was an unused substitute in all three finals. Towards the end of his playing career, Banks started working as a goalkeeping coach. He is currently in that role at his former club Blackpool. Lucien "Sonny" Banks (June 29, 1940 – May 13, 1965) was a mid-20th Century American boxer who is primarily remembered for being the first boxer to ever knock down Cassius Clay (later "Muhammad Ali") in a professional match. In the early 1960s Banks was regarded in the sport as rising prospect known for a lightning fast left hook, but his career was cut short when he died from injuries sustained in the ring in 1965. Sean Anthony Banks (born January 20, 1985) is a 6'8" American retired professional basketball forward.
