Banking in Serbia is regulated by the central bank in Serbia, the National Bank of Serbia. The mandate of the National Bank of Serbia is to contribute, without prejudice to its primary objective, to the maintenance and strengthening of the stability of the financial system and Economy of Serbia. Banca Intesa Beograd
Banca Intesa Beograd ( sr, Банка Интеза Београд) is one of the largest operating banks in Serbia, majority owned (93%) by the Italian Intesa Sanpaolo and other 7% by International Financial Corporation, World Bank. Its headquarters is in Belgrade, Serbia. History It was founded as Delta banka in 1991. In February 2005, Banca Intesa acquired 75% stake in the bank for €278 million. Piraeus Bank Beograd (full legal name: ''Piraeus Bank a.d. Beograd''), was a Serbian bank that existed from May 2005 until October 2018 when it was acquired by Direktna Banka. It was majority owned by Greek Piraeus Bank. Its particular activities were in the areas of large corporate banking, retail banking and SMEs. History Piraeus Bank started its operations in the Serbian market with a network of 9 branches and 176 employees. Today, the Bank has a business network of 34 branches, approximately 550 employees, it has developed sector of Piraeus Leasing and Piraeus Rent, and tens of thousands of clients. Alpha Bank Serbia
Jubanka ( sr-cyr, Јубанка), formerly known as Alpha Bank Srbija, was a commercial bank based in Belgrade, Serbia. In December 2017, following the purchase in April 2017, it merged into AIK Banka.
