Brasília
Brasília (; ) is the federal capital of Brazil and seat of government of the Federal District. The city is located at the top of the Brazilian highlands in the country's Central-West region. It was founded by President Juscelino Kubitschek on 21 April 1960, to serve as the new national capital. Brasília is estimated to be Brazil's third-most populous city. Among major Latin American cities, it has the highest GDP per capita. Brasília was a planned city developed by Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer and Joaquim Cardozo in 1956 in a scheme to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to a more central location. The landscape architect was Roberto Burle Marx. The city's design divides it into numbered blocks as well as sectors for specified activities, such as the Hotel Sector, the Banking Sector, and the Embassy Sector. BB Tecnologia E Serviços
BB Tecnologia e Serviços (BBTS), formerly Cobra Tecnologia, is a Brazilian information technology company that currently belongs to the Banco do Brasil conglomerate. Background In 1961, students from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica create the first computer project in national territory, which was called “Zezinho”. Other universities begin to develop their own projects: Unicamp, with support from the Brazilian Navy, launches the "Projeto Cisne Branco". At the University of São Paulo, the Patinho Feio (''in English: Ugly Little Duck'') is developed. The name was a joke, because if the priority of the Military Government was the “Cisne Branco” (''in English: White Swan''), the USP project was the ugly duckling of the story. The fact is that the ''"Patinho Feio"'' was ready sooner. Around the same time, the Navy buys six English frigates. The weapon systems of these modern warships were all computer-controlled. Mastering the technology became a matter of na ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Bank Of Issue
A central bank, reserve bank, or monetary authority is an institution that manages the currency and monetary policy of a country or monetary union, and oversees their commercial banking system. In contrast to a commercial bank, a central bank possesses a monopoly on increasing the monetary base. Most central banks also have supervisory and regulatory powers to ensure the stability of member institutions, to prevent bank runs, and to discourage reckless or fraudulent behavior by member banks. Central banks in most developed nations are institutionally independent from political interference. Still, limited control by the executive and legislative bodies exists. Activities of central banks Functions of a central bank usually include: * Monetary policy: by setting the official interest rate and controlling the money supply; *Financial stability: acting as a government's banker and as the bankers' bank ("lender of last resort"); * Reserve management: managing a country's fo ... Retail Banking
Retail banking, also known as consumer banking or personal banking, is the provision of services by a bank to the general public, rather than to companies, corporations or other banks, which are often described as wholesale banking. Banking services which are regarded as retail include provision of savings and transactional accounts, mortgages, personal loans, debit cards, and credit cards. Retail banking is also distinguished from investment banking or commercial banking. It may also refer to a division or department of a bank which deals with individual customers. In the U.S., the term commercial bank is used for a ''normal'' bank to distinguish it from an investment bank. After the Great Depression, the Glass–Steagall Act restricted normal banks to banking activities, and investment banks to capital market activities. That distinction was repealed in the 1990s. Commercial bank can also refer to a bank or a division of a bank that deals mostly with deposits and loans from co ... List Of Largest Banks
The following are lists of the largest banks in the world, as measured by total assets. By total assets The list is based on the April 2022 S&P Global Market Intelligence report of the 100 largest banks in the world. The ranking was based upon assets as reported and was not adjusted for different accounting treatments. Accounting treatment affects the assets reported: for example, the United States uses US GAAP (as opposed to IFRS), which only reports the net derivative position in most cases, leading to US banks having fewer derivative assets than comparable non-US banks. If JPMorgan Chase reported under the IFRS, it would be ranked 4th on the list , rather than 5th. Banks by country or territory By market capitalization The list is based on Relbanks.com's ranking as at 1 July 2019, where the data are derived from annual reports and financial statements of the companies.
