Banjo Mosele
Banjo Timothy Mosele (born 1 April 1960) is a guitarist, singer and composer born in Kanye, Botswana. Career Banjo Mosele is a founding member of the Kalahari Band that backed Hugh Masekela, and Mosele toured the world with this band throughout the 1980s. He has played guitar in three of Hugh Masekela's albums, namely ''Techno-Bush'', ''Waiting for the Rain'', and '' Tomorrow''. Mosele has also worked as a session musician with the likes of Jonas Gwangwa, Peter Gabriel, Julian Bahula, Bheki Mseleku and Barney Rachabane on the London music scene. While studying music at Goldsmiths College, Mosele formed and led Bushmen Don't Surf, a group that made a name in the UK performing in festivals such as WOMAD and Glastonbury, and around Europe. Mosele released his first solo album, ''Badisa'', in 2003 and followed its success with ''Movin’ On'' in 2005 and ''Nowa Days'' in 2008. Kanye, Botswana
Kanye is a village in southern Botswana, located south-west of the capital, Gaborone. It is the administrative centre of the Southern District, and had a population of 45,196 at the 2011 census, making it the eighth-largest village in the country. Kanye is the traditional capital of the Ngwaketse tribe, who first settled in the area in the 1790s. The village is the longest continuously occupied tribal capital in the country. Geography Kanye lies on a series of hills which form a natural protective barrier against the sands of the Kalahari Desert. The hills extend into the Bushveld region of South Africa. There is a deep natural gorge (called Kanye Gorge) close to the village, which was reputedly used as a hiding place for villagers during the various conflicts of the 19th century. Erik Moll (born 7 September 1948) is an American-born Norwegian-singer-songwriter, inspired by the tradition-based styles such as traditional folk, country, blues, swing, gypsy, tex-mex, calypso and rock music.
