Bangladeš
Bangladeš ( sr-cyrl, Бангладеш) is a small Romani suburban settlement of the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. Name The settlement's name is the Serbian transliteration of Bangladesh, a country in South Asia. The origin of the name is not certain. History Before being populated, Bangladeš was intended to be pig farmland. Bangladeš was founded in 1972 by the intervention of the Center for Social Work of Novi Sad () to resettle 100 Roma families who were displaced after a great fire destroyed a Romani settlement in Novi Sad. It was intended to be temporary. However, the settlement essentially became permanent. The settlement's households received potable pipeline water supply in 2004 and electricity in 2009. Geography The settlement is situated to the northwest of urban Novi Sad, between Sajlovo and Rumenka, close to the road connecting the two settlements, ''Rumenački put'' (Rumenka road). South Bačka District
The South Bačka District ( sr, Јужнобачки округ, Južnobački okrug, ; hu, Dél-bácskai körzet; ) is one of seven administrative districts of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. Geographically it lies in the southern part of Bačka and northern part of Syrmia. According to the 2011 census results, it has a population of 615,371 inhabitants. The administrative center of the district is the city of Novi Sad, which is also the capital and the largest city of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. Pig farming or pork farming or hog farming is the raising and breeding of domestic pigs as livestock, and is a branch of animal husbandry. Pigs are farmed principally for food (e.g. pork: bacon, ham, gammon) and skins. Pigs are amenable to many different styles of farming: intensive commercial units, commercial free range enterprises, or extensive farming (being allowed to wander around a village, town or city, or tethered in a simple shelter or kept in a pen outside the owner's house). Vojvodina
Vojvodina ( sr-Cyrl, Војводина}), officially the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, is an autonomous province that occupies the northernmost part of Serbia. Rumenka () is a suburban settlement of the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. The village has a Serb ethnic majority and a population of 6,495 people (2011 census). Sajlovo
Sajlovo ( sr-cyrl, Сајлово; hu, Zajol) or Donje Sajlovo ( sr-cyrl, Доње Сајлово) is a neighborhood of the city of Novi Sad, Serbia. History In 1237, two villages with name Sajlovo (Hungarian: Zajol), Donje Sajlovo and Gornje Sajlovo, were mentioned to exist in this area. The original name of these settlements was Isailovo. Settlements were named after monk Isaija from nearby monastery that existed in the 12th century in the east of Rumenka. Name Sajlovo/Isailovo is of Slavic origin, which indicate that these settlements were initially inhabited by Slavs. Modern settlement of Sajlovo was mostly settled during the 1990s with Serb refugees from parts of former Yugoslavia.
