Bangladeshi Cricket Team In Kenya In 1983–84
The tour of the Bangladesh team to Kenya, during February, 1984, was the first visit of Bangladesh to any associate member country. The tour started a rivalry (between Bangladesh & Kenya cricket teams) which became very intense in the 1990s. On this tour, Bangladesh drew the only 3-Day fixture, won a 2-day (over restricted) match, but won only 1 of the 5 limited over matches(That too against the Combined School XI). Overall, it was a disappointing tour for the Bangladesh side. The Bangladesh team The tour followed immediately after the South East Asian Cricket cup in Bangladesh. Apart from the Bangladesh National team (which won the cup), The Bangladesh Tigers (The unofficial 'A' team, consisting mostly of youngsters) had participated in that cup. Players like, Rafiqul Alam. Jahangir Alam (cricketer, Born 1973)
Jahangir Alam (born 5 March 1973) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer who played in three One Day Internationals from 1997 to 1999. An opening batsman who could keep wicket if necessary, Jahangir Alam was ideally suited for one day cricket. Unfortunately for Bangladesh, though enormously successful in domestic arena, he failed to perform up to expectation at the international level. Early days Jahangir was born in 1973 at Narayanganj, Dhaka. He first came into prominence during the under-19 tour of England in the summer of 1989. He started the tour with a hundred and continued to score consistently after that. His 132 against Wycombe was the highest score in the tour. In the process he shared a 210 run opening partnership with Javed Omar. Jahangir Alam scored 35 against Homestead and 40 against Wakeham Overall in five matches he scored 219 runs at an average of 43.80. Kennedy Otieno Obuya (born 11 March 1972), also known as Kennedy Otieno, is a former Kenyan international cricketer. A right-handed batsman and wicketkeeper, Otieno is the brother of fellow internationals Collins Obuya, Collins and David Obuya. Dipak Nanalal Chudasama (born 20 May 1963) is a former Kenyan cricketer of Indian Gujarati origin. He was a right-handed batsman. Known as "The Doc", Chudasama was, as well as being a cricketer, a fully qualified orthodontist. He is the first Kenyan player to score an international century. Tushar Imran
Sheikh Tushar Imran (born 10 December 1983) is a cricketer from Bangladesh who has represented his country in Test matches and One Day Internationals (ODIs). In January 2018 he became the first Bangladesh player to score 10,000 runs in first-class cricket. In November 2021, he announced his retirement from first-class and international cricket. Career Imran first hit the headlines aged just 17 when he made 131 from 106 balls in a domestic match for his side Khulna Division in 2000–01. Mohammad Sanwar Hossain ( bn, সানোয়ার হোসেন; born 5 August 1973) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer, who was part of the Bangladesh squad for the 2003 Cricket World Cup. History The middle-order batter made his international debut in 1998 against India in an ODI game at Dhaka. He notched up his maiden ODI fifty in 2001 against Zimbabwe. Despite continuous low scores, he was selected for the 2003 ODI World Cup held in South Africa, where he scored just 63 runs in six innings. 1994 ICC Trophy
The 1994 ICC Trophy (formally the ABN AMRO ICC Trophy) was a cricket tournament that took place in Kenya between 12 February and 6 March 1994. It was the fifth ICC Trophy tournament to be staged, and acted as the Cricket World Cup qualification tournament for the 1996 Cricket World Cup. Zimbabwe, the winners of the previous three tournaments, had been granted Full membership of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 1992 and so were no longer eligible to participate in the ICC Trophy. They automatically qualified for the World Cup. For the first time three spots were on offer to qualify for the World Cup, and matches were played over 50 overs a side, though white clothing and red balls were still used. Kenyan Cricket Team
The Kenya national cricket team represents the Republic of Kenya in international cricket. Kenya is an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) which has Twenty20 International (T20I) status after the ICC granted T20I status to all of their members. They have been an associate member of the ICC since 1981. Since then they have played in five Cricket World Cups from 1996 to 2011 with their best result being a semi-final appearance at the 2003 Cricket World Cup in Southern Africa. They have only qualified for one ICC World Twenty20 tournament with that being in 2007 ICC World Twenty20, 2007. The Kenyan national team is governed by Cricket Kenya. The 1990 ICC Trophy was a limited-overs cricket tournament held in the Netherlands between 4 June and 23 June 1990. It was the fourth ICC Trophy tournament to be staged, and the first to be held outside England. It was also the first ICC Trophy competition to have a title sponsor, being known officially as the Unibind ICC Trophy. As in previous Trophies, matches were played over 60 overs a side and with white clothing and red balls. Zimbabwe won the competition for the third successive time, beating the Netherlands in the final for the second time, and also winning every game they played in the tournament. The 1986 ICC Trophy was a limited-overs cricket tournament held in England between 11 June and 7 July 1986. It was the third ICC Trophy tournament to be staged, and as with the previous two tournaments, games between the 16 participating teams played over 60 overs a side and with white clothing and red balls. All matches except the final were played in the Midlands, but the final was held at Lord's, London. The tournament served as the Cricket World Cup qualification process – Zimbabwe defeated the Netherlands to win their second ICC Trophy in a row and qualify for the 1987 World Cup.
