Bangladesh Olympic Association ( bn, বাংলাদেশ অলিম্পিক সংস্থা; IOC code: BAN) is the National Olympic Committee representing Bangladesh. It is also the body responsible for Bangladesh's representation at the Commonwealth Games. Its president is the Bangladesh Army chief General Shafiuddin Ahmed (officer), SM Shafiuddin Ahmed. The Women's 100 metres at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place on August 16 (heats) and 17 (final) at the Beijing National Stadium. The qualifying standards for the 2008 event were 11.32 s (A standard) and 11.42 s (B standard). Jamaica dominated the event with athlete Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce taking the gold and Sherone Simpson and Kerron Stewart taking the silver. Doli Akhter, born 15 January 1986, is an Olympic swimmer from Bangladesh. She has swum for Bangladesh at the 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.
