Bangalore Linux User Group
The Bangalore Linux Users Group (BLUG) is a FOSS, Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) user group. History Formed in 1998, the group participated in Bangalore IT.COM 1999 (now known as Bangalore IT.in), then India's largest technology event. The Government of Karnataka gave the BLUG an entire pavilion, where it exhibited Linux-based machines showing various applications, under the motto "Seeing is believing". Over the years, the BLUG participated in a number of technology events, and from 2001 to 2004 facilitation (business), facilitated Linux Bangalore, a FOSS event with thousands of delegates from India and abroad. The current edition of the event is called FOSS.IN. In late 2000, the BLUG was registered as a not-for-profit society, under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act 1960. Facilitation in business, organizational development (OD) and consensus decision-making refers to the process of designing and running a meeting according to a previously agreed set of requirements. Facilitation concerns itself with all the tasks needed to reach a productive and impartial meeting outcome that reflects the agreed objectives and deliverables defined upfront by the meeting owner or client. FOSS.IN, previously known as Linux Bangalore, was an annual free and open source software (FOSS) conference, held in Bangalore, India from 2001 to 2012. From 2001 to 2004, it was known as Linux Bangalore, before it took on a new name and wider focus. During its lifetime, it was one of the largest FOSS events in Asia, with participants from around the world. ILUG-Delhi is a Linux user group, and is the Delhi Chapter of the India Linux User Group community (ILUG). ILUG-D regularly organises meetings to discuss Free and Open Source Software. Meetings were usually organised once a month and announced on the linux-delhi mailing-lis Linux-Delhi has also conducted events such as the Linux Demo Day for popularisation of FOSS.
