''Banga'' is the eleventh and most recent studio album by American rock musician Patti Smith, released on June 1, 2012 on Columbia Records. Recorded throughout 2011 at New York's Electric Lady Studios and Hoboken's Hobo Recorders, ''Banga'' was produced by Smith, Tony Shanahan, Jay Dee Daugherty and collaborator Lenny Kaye. The album includes a number of guest musicians including Tom Verlaine of Television, Italian band Casa del Vento, Jack Petruzzelli and Smith's own children, Jackson and Jesse Paris. Inspired by Smith's "unique dreams and observations", the material on ''Banga'' focuses on "a wide range of human experience" and features songs about history, current affairs, death and nature. The album was announced alongside the release of its lead single, "April Fool", as a digital download on April 1, 2012. Banga, Pakistan
Bangay (Punjabi and ) is a village of Faisalabad District (previously Lyallpur) in the Punjab, Pakistan, Punjab province of Pakistan. It is at 31°24'0N 73°18'0E with an altitude of 181 metres (597 feet). Bangay Chak is 20 km from Faisalabad and same distance from Jaranwala off Jaranwala-Faisalabad Road. It is about 133 km from provincial capital Lahore. It is the birthplace of Bhagat Singh. Attractions Bhagat Singh was born in the village in 1907. The Government of Pakistan has declared it to be a national heritage site and the Government of Punjab, India has offered help for the purchase and setting up of a world-class memorial. ''Tapayan'' or ''tempayan'' (also known as ''balanga'', ''belanga'', or ''banga'') are large wide-mouthed earthenware or stoneware jars found in various Austronesian cultures in island Southeast Asia. Their various functions include fermenting rice (''tapai''), fermenting vinegar or alcoholic beverages, storing food and water, cooking, and burial of the deceased. The term ''tapayan'' also includes the imported ''martaban'' stoneware (Dutch: ), originally from kilns in Southern China and Indochina. These were used primarily as storage jars for foodstuffs and valuable trade goods during ship voyages, but were highly valued as trade goods themselves. Vanga Kingdom
Vanga was an ancient kingdom and geopolitical division within the Ganges delta in the Indian subcontinent. The kingdom is one of the namesakes of the Bengal region. It was located in southern Bengal, with the core region including present-day southern West Bengal (India) and southwestern Bangladesh. Vanga features prominently in the epics and tales of ancient India as well as in the history of Sri Lanka.
