Bandido (wrestler)
Bandido (born April 17, 1995) is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'' ( masked professional wrestler), who is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He is widely known for his work in Ring of Honor, where he is a former one-time ROH World Champion as well as his work in a range of promotions, such as promotions Lucha Libre Elite (LLE), The Crash Lucha Libre and Dragon Gate (DG). Bandido is a fourth-generation wrestler, a relative of Apóstol Jr., Myzteziz Jr., and cousin of Magia Blanca. Bandido's real name is not publicly known, which is often the case with masked wrestlers in Mexico. Bandido previously worked under the ring names "Magnífico II" and "Cielito" but since 2016, he has used the ring character Bandido, who wears a mask that incorporates a bandana covering the lower part of his face in the style of Wild West outlaw. "Cielito Lindo" is a popular Mexican song '' copla'', popularized in 1882 by Mexican author Quirino Mendoza y Cortés (c. 1862–1957). It is roughly translated as "Lovely Sweet One". Although the word ''cielo'' means "sky" or "heaven", it is also a term of endearment comparable to "sweetheart" or "honey." ''Cielito'', the diminutive, can be translated as "sweetie"; ''lindo'' means "cute", "lovely" or "pretty". Jorge Ernesto Guzmán Rodríguez (born August 2, 1963) is a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler and political activist, best known under the ring name, El Hijo del Santo ("The Son of the Saint"). Guzmán is the youngest child, out of eleven, of Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta, better known as El Santo, a professional wrestler, film actor, and Mexican folk hero. In professional wrestling, the independent circuit or indie circuit is the collective noun, collective name of independent professional wrestling promotions which are smaller than major televised promotions. Tag team wrestling is a type of professional wrestling in which matches are contested between teams of multiple wrestlers. Survival of the Fittest is a professional wrestling tournament held by Ring of Honor (ROH). The inaugural tournament took place in 2004, and - with exceptions (2008, 2013, 2019–2020) - has become an annual tradition in ROH ever since. The ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship is a professional wrestling championship owned by the Ring of Honor (ROH) promotion.
