Senarath Bandara Ananda Kulathilaka Wijethunga (born 28 January 1939 – 3 January 1990) ( si, බණ්ඩාර විජේතුංග), popularly known as Bandara K. Wijethunga, was a poet, short story writer, creative publisher, songwriter and radio artist. Personal life Wijetunga was born on 28 January 1939 in Pallegama Weliganwatta, Weauda Korale, Kurunegala. His father Wijetunga Mudiyanselage Punchi Banda Wijayatunga was a teacher by profession. His mother, Herath Mudiyanselage Bandara Menike Herath was a housewife. He has one sister Chinta Padmini, who was also a teacher. Wijetunga received his primary education at St. Beed College, Badulla. Then he attended Ananda College, Colombo in 1953 to complete studies from English medium. His classmates at the school are, J. B. Disanayake, D.B. Kurunegala
Kurunegala ( si, කුරුණෑගල, ta, குருணாகல்) is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of the North Western Province and the Kurunegala District. Kurunegala was an ancient royal capital for 50 years, from the end of the 13th century to the start of the 14th century. It is at the junction of several main roads linking to other important parts of the country. It is about from Colombo, from Kandy and from Matale. Visharada Dona Delicia Neela Wickramasinghe ( si, නීලා වික්රමසිංහ; 30 March 1950 – 17 January 2022), popularly as Neela Wickramasinghe, was a Sri Lankan songstress, teacher, playback singer and musician. Dahanayakage Nihal Ranjith Silva ( Sinhala:නිහාල් සිල්වා) (10 January 1954 – 3 December 1989), popularly as Nihal Silva, was a Sri Lankan comedian and actor.
