Banbury Oaks is a neighborhood in Pasadena, California. It is bordered by Washington Boulevard to the north, Mountain Street to the south, Fair Oaks Avenue to the East, and Forest Avenue to the west. The neighborhood is bisected by I-210. The main roads through the neighborhood are Hammond Street and Lincoln Avenue. Landmarks Most of the commercial development in the neighborhood is on Fair Oaks and Lincoln Avenues, on either side of the neighborhood. Jackie Robinson Park is located on Fair Oaks and Hammond, and his childhood home is nearby. On the east side of Sunset Avenue from Glorieta Avenue to Hammond Avenue the three houses are not part of the Banbury Oaks Landmark District. These neighbors chose not be included in the History Landmark status of the Banbury Oaks Landmark district in the city of Pasadena. Pasadena ( ) is a city in Los Angeles County, California, northeast of downtown Los Angeles. It is the most populous city and the primary cultural center of the San Gabriel Valley. Fair Oaks Avenue (Pasadena, California)
Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, California, is a major north–south road connecting the communities of Altadena, Pasadena, and South Pasadena, running in length. It starts at its southernmost end in South Pasadena at Huntington Drive. It travels due north to a terminus above Loma Alta Avenue in Altadena and the gates of Angelus County Park. Beyond this, the road becomes a private easement. At its meeting of Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena the two roads become the zero-zero, east–west, north–south postal division of Pasadena which carries on into Altadena. In South Pasadena, the street numbering varies with its own postal zip code. History Fair Oaks is one of the major roads developed by the Indiana Colony dating back to 1874. The Foothill Freeway is a freeway in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, California, running from the Sylmar district of Los Angeles east to Redlands. Jackie Robinson Park (formerly Colonial Park) is a public park in the Hamilton Heights, Manhattan, Hamilton Heights and Harlem neighborhoods of Manhattan in New York City. The approximately park is bounded by Bradhurst Avenue to the east, 155th Street (Manhattan), 155th Street to the north, Edgecombe Avenue to the west, and 145th Street (Manhattan), 145th Street to the south. The park has baseball fields, basketball courts, restrooms, and a bandshell, which are arranged around the park's steep terrain. It also includes the Jackie Robinson Play Center, which consists of a recreation center and a pool.
