Banagher GAC
St Mary's Banagher GAC ( ga, CLG Naomh Mhuire Beannchar) is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Feeny / Park area of County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The club is a member of the Derry GAA. Banagher is a dual club and currently caters for Gaelic football, hurling and camogie. The club motto is the Irish ''Ni neart go misneach'', which translates as "No strength like courage". Underage teams up to U-12s play in North Derry league and championships, from U-14 upwards teams compete in All-Derry competitions. The club was formed in 1965, when St Mary's Park and St Joseph's Banagher amalgamated. Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship
The Ulster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Ulster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Ulster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs and, in some cases, champion senior clubs in the province of Ulster in Ireland. The Ulster Intermediate Club Championship was introduced in 2004. In its current format, the championship begins in late October or early November and is usually played over a four-week period. The seven participating club teams compete in a straight knockout competition that culminates with the Ulster final for the two remaining teams. Mark Lynch (Gaelic Footballer)
Mark Lynch (born 20 February 1986) is a dual player of Gaelic games who played Gaelic football for the Derry county team, with whom he won a National League title. He plays his club football and hurling for St Mary's Banagher. Football career Inter-county Lynch was called up to the Derry Minor team in 2002 and made his debut against Antrim while only 16. Derry Minors won that year's Ulster Minor Championship and All-Ireland Minor Championship. He was a member of the Derry Under-21 team that finished runners-up in both the 2004 and 2006 Ulster Under-21 Football Championships. Lynch has been playing for the Senior team since 2004. He was instrumental in the 2008 National League, which Derry won, defeating Kerry in the final. Lynch underwent a shoulder operation in November 2008 and isn't expected to return to action until March 2009. The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Seán Marty Lockhart (born Seán Martin Lockhart; 22 August 1976) is an Irish dual player of Gaelic games who plays Gaelic football for the Derry county team. He has won an Ulster Senior Football Championship and three National League titles with the county, as well an All-Ireland Under 21 Championship. He also won an All Star for his performances in the 1998 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. He plays club football for St Mary's Banagher. As a dual player, Lockhart also plays hurling for Banagher, and has in the past also hurled for Derry. The Sperrins or Sperrin Mountains () are a range of mountains in Northern Ireland and one of the largest upland areas in Northern Ireland. The range stretches from Strabane eastwards to Slieve Gallion in Desertmartin and north towards Limavady, in the counties of Tyrone and Londonderry. The All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) ( ga, Craobh Shinsir Peile na hÉireann) is the premier competition in Gaelic football. Derry Senior Football Championship
The Derry Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic football competition contested by the top sixteen Derry GAA clubs. The winners receive the John McLaughlin Cup and qualify to represent Derry in the Ulster Senior Club Football Championship. Glen are the title holders (2022) and back-to-back champions defeating Slaughtneil in the Final to win their second title on 23rd October 2022. Feeny () is a village and townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is between Dungiven and Claudy. In the United Kingdom Census 2011, 2011 Census it had a population of 690. Feeny lies just inside the boundary of the Sperrins Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is situated within Causeway Coast and Glens district.
