Bana Tchanilé
Bana Tchanilé is a former football coach, he has been in charge of the Togo national football team on at least two occasions, in 2000 and in 2004. On 7 September 2010, Togo allegedly played Bahrain in a friendly losing the match 3–0. However, on 14 September, the Togolese Football Federation, Togo FA claimed that a fake team had played against Bahrain. Bahrain's head coach Josef Hickersberger rated the match as a missed opportunity for his team to prepare for the 2010 WAFF Championship, West Asian Championships starting in September. Togo's Sport Minister Christophe Tchao said to the ''Jeune Afrique'' magazine that nobody in Togo had "ever been informed of such a game". On 20 September 2010, it was revealed that Tchanilé was the culprit and the Togo FA have given him a three-year ban in addition to the two-year ban he got in July 2010 for taking Togo players to play a tournament in Egypt. Josef Hickersberger
Josef Hickersberger (born 27 April 1948) is a former professional football player and former coach of the Austria national football team and Austrian club side Rapid Wien. Club career Hickersberger was born in Amstetten, Austria. He started his playing career with Austria Wien, where he was brought in by Ernst Ocwirk in 1966. After six successful seasons he was sold for 2.1 million schillings to Bundesliga side Kickers Offenbach. He later moved on to Fortuna Düsseldorf, then returned to Austria to join SSW Innsbruck and finished his professional career with Rapid Vienna. He continued playing for amateur sides Badener AC, UFC Pama, SV Forchtenstein and WSV Traisen where he took up his first coaching posts. 2010 WAFF Championship
The 2010 WAFF Championship was the 6th edition of the West Asian Football Federation Championship, an international tournament for selected West Asian countries and territories. It was hosted by Jordan, after Lebanon was deemed not capable of hosting. The competition was eventually won for the first time by Kuwait, after beating defending champions, Iran. Wilson Raj Perumal
Wilson Raj Perumal (born 31 July 1965) is a convicted Singaporean match-fixer. Perumal is accused on several match fixing scandals, including Asiagate in 2007–2009 and the 2008–2011 Finnish match-fixing scandal. He was first jailed for match-fixing in 1995 in Singapore. In the same year, Perumal traveled to England on behalf of a Singaporean match-fixing boss to fix two FA Cup matches. According to his autobiography, Perumal and an associate attempted to bribe Birmingham's goalkeeper Ian Bennett and Chelsea's goalkeeper Dmitri Kharine, failing both times. In February 2011, Perumal was arrested in Finland and later sentenced to two years in prison. He served a year in Finnish prison and was then turned over to authorities in Hungary. Five years later Perumal was again in Finland and tried to buy Atlantis FC with a new name. In organized sports, match fixing is the act of playing or officiating a match with the intention of achieving a pre-determined result, violating the rules of the game and often the law. There are many reasons why match fixing might take place, including receiving bribes from bookmakers or sports bettors, and blackmail. Competitors may also intentionally perform poorly to gain a future advantage, such as a better draft pick or to face an easier opponent in a later round of competition. Tchakala Tchanilé (born 30 March 1969) is a Togolese football coach and former player who managed the Togo national team. Playing career Tchanilé played in Germany between 1992 and 1995. He represented Togo at senior international level, appearing in FIFA World Cup qualifying matches. Coaching career Tchanilé earned his coaching badges while living in Germany. He coached a number of club sides, including Maranatha and Dyto (both of Togo), as well as Nigerien team JST Niamey.
