Ban Dara Junction Railway Station
Ban Dara Junction ( th, สถานีชุมทางบ้านดารา, ) is a railway station located in Phichai District, Uttaradit. It is a Class 3 Station and serves as a junction for the Sawankhalok Branch. Ban Dara Junction is located from Bangkok Railway Station. It is also the nearest station to Poramin Railway Bridge. History Ban Dara Junction was the first railway junction on the Northern Line, with the branch to Sawankhalok railway station. The name comes together with the subdistrict itself. Uttaradit
The original name of Mueang district, Uttaradit, was Bang Pho. This district was under the control of Phi Chai District. Later, it was established as Uttaradit Province and Bang Pho District became the capital district. It was changed to Mueang Uttaradit District recently. The district is the seat of government and the center of economic activity of Uttaradit Province. Uttaradit is 483 km north of Bangkok. Chiang Mai Main Line is a main line of the Northern Line operated by State Railway of Thailand that connects between Hua Lamphong railway station in the central and Chiang Mai railway station in the north, passing through many provinces. It is the second longest railway line in Thailand, after Su-ngai Kolok Main Line. Notable services include the Nakhon Phing Express, the first class train serving the line. Ban Dara Bridge
Poramin Bridge ( th, สะพานปรมินทร์), also known as Ban Dara Bridge (สะพานบ้านดารา) is a railway bridge over the Nan River in Tambon Ban Dara, Amphoe Phichai, Uttaradit Province in northern Thailand. It is located south of Ban Dara Junction railway station and is between Rai Oi and Ban Dara railway stations. The historic bridge's name translates to ''"The Great One Bridge"''. It was built in 1906, and King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) opened it ceremonially on December 7, 1909. The originally nameless area was named by King Chulalongkorn when he was waiting for his train to add firewood and water. He asked the train staff "Where is here?", to which he received the response "This place has no name yet". Sawankhalok Railway Station
Sawankhalok Station is a railway station located in Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai. It is a Class 3 Station and is located from Bangkok railway station. This station uses signs as signals instead of lighted poles or semaphores and is operated manually. This is one of the two stations on the Northern Line that uses this signalling system, the other being Khlong Maphlap railway station, the preceding station. This station is the terminus of the Sawankhalok Branch from Ban Dara Junction. Train services * Special Express No. 3 Bangkok–Sawankhalok/Sila At Notes * Special Express No. 3 terminates at Sila At, not at Sawankhalok. Chulalongkorn ( th, จุฬาลงกรณ์, 20 September 1853 – 23 October 1910) was the fifth monarch of Siam under the House of Chakri, titled Rama V.
