Bamba Fall (born May 27, 1986) is a Senegalese professional basketball player who currently plays for Fundación CB Granada of the Spanish LEB Oro league. He played college basketball for the Southern Methodist University and represents the Senegal national basketball team in international competition. College career Fall attended Oak Hill Academy (Virginia), Oak Hill Academy from 2003–2005. While at Oak Hill, the team finished ranked #1 in the country both years Fall attended. Fall began attending SMU in 2005 and since then has played in 43 games (18 as a freshman, 25 as a sophomore) and averaged a career high of 7.1 points per game in 2006-2007 while also leading Conference USA in blocked shots (19th nationally). BC Kalev, known as BC Kalev/Cramo for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Tallinn, Estonia. Fundación Club Baloncesto Granada, also known as Covirán Granada by sponsorship reasons, is a basketball team based in Granada, Andalusia, Spain that currently plays in Liga ACB. History The Fundación CBG was founded in 2006 as an entity associated to basketball club CB Granada, with the aim to promote basketball and other nonprofit activities in the province of Granada. FIBA Africa Championship 2007
AfroBasket 2007 was the 24th FIBA Africa Championship, played under the auspices of the Fédération Internationale de Basketball, the basketball sport governing body, and the African zone thereof. The tournament was hosted by Angola, in the cities of Benguela, Cabinda, Huambo and Lubango. Angola won its fifth consecutive African championship and ninth overall by beating Cameroon 86-72 in the championship game. Cape Verde won the bronze medal game over Egypt. Blocked Shot
In basketball, a block or blocked shot occurs when a defensive player legally deflects a field goal attempt from an offensive player to prevent a score. The defender is not allowed to make contact with the offensive player's hand (unless the defender is also in contact with the ball) or a '' foul'' is called. In order to be legal, the block must occur while the shot is traveling upward or at its apex. A deflected field goal that is made does not count as a blocked shot and simply counts as a successful field goal attempt for shooter plus the points awarded to the shooting team. For the shooter, a blocked shot is counted as a missed field goal attempt. Also, on a shooting foul, a blocked shot cannot be awarded or counted, even if the player who deflected the field goal attempt is different from the player who committed the foul. Conference USA (C-USA or CUSA) is an intercollegiate athletic conference whose current member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports. C-USA's offices are located in Dallas, Texas.
