Bamba Diallo
Cheikh Bamba "C.B." Diallo (born 28 March 1990) is a Senegalese basketball player for AS Loon plage Basket and the Senegal national team. Standing at , he mainly plays as shooting guard. Early career Born in Thiès, Diallo played with the SEED Academy from age 16. In 2013, he played at a Basketball Without Borders camp in South Africa and was named the All-Star Game MVP. He moved to the United States to play high school basketball in North Carolina with Cape Fear Christian Academy. College career Diallo played two seasons with Kilgore College from 2015 until 2017. He averaged 24 minutes, 9.6 points and 2.2 rebounds in 59 games with Kilgore. In 2017, he transferred to the American Eagles men's basketball team. Professional career In May 2021, Diallo signed with Senegalese side AS Douanes. He was on the roster for the first-ever season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). 2022 BAL Season
The 2022 BAL season, also known as BAL Season 2, was the second season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL). The season began on 2 March 2022 and ended with the Finals on 28 May 2022. The group phase was played in the Dakar Arena in Dakar and the Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall in Cairo. The playoffs and finals were played in the BK Arena in Kigali for a second year in a row. Tunisian club US Monastir won the finals to win its first-ever BAL title, after defeating Angolan club Petro de Luanda in the 2022 BAL Finals. As winners, Monastir qualified for the 2023 FIBA Intercontinental Cup. Format On 9 December 2021, the BAL announced a new format for the season, with an expansion of the number of total games to 38. FIBA AfroBasket 2021 was the 30th edition of the FIBA AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was hosted by Rwanda for the first time. It was originally scheduled to take place between 17 and 29 August 2021, but it was moved back a week due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 24 August to 5 September 2021. The tournament featured 16 teams, with South Sudan debuting at the AfroBasket stage. Tunisia was the defending champion, having won the 2017 tournament and they defended their title with a final win over Ivory Coast, while Senegal won the bronze medal. Host selection In June 2019, FIBA Africa announced that Rwanda hosts the 2021 FIBA AfroBasket outbesting the bids of Senegal, Ivory Coast, and DR Congo.
