Balázs Borbély
Balázs Borbély (born 2 October 1979) is a former professional footballer. His former clubs were TJ Družstevník Vrakúň, FC ŠTK 1914 Šamorín and AEL Limassol. At international level, he represented Slovakia. Club career An ethnic Hungarian, Borbély was born in Czechoslovakia and began playing football for his home town club FK DAC 1904 Dunajská Streda until joining Artmedia Petržalka, the club where he would enjoy his greatest success. He captained the Artmedia Petržalka side which reached the group stages of the 2005–06 UEFA Champions League. Following this success, he moved to German Bundesliga side 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where he would spend one and a half seasons. He struggled through injury in his tenure at Kaiserslautern and returned to Artmedia Petržalka in the summer of 2007. Dunajská Streda
Dunajská Streda (; hu, Dunaszerdahely; german: Niedermarkt; he, דונהסרדהיי) is a town located in southern Slovakia ( Trnavský kraj). Dunajská Streda is the most culturally significant town in the Žitný ostrov area. The town has a population of 22,730, with ethnic Hungarians forming the 72% majority. Name The name of ''Syridahel'' was first mentioned in 1256. Other early written forms of the name were ''Zeredahely'' (1270) and ''Zredahel'' (1358). Szerdahely means "Wednesday (market)place" in Hungarian and it indicates the town had the privilege to hold a market on Wednesdays (although it was later changed to Fridays). (The Hungarian word ''szerda'' is a loanword from Slavic languages; the word ''streda'' means Wednesday in Slovak, with related words existing in other Slavic languages, meaning the middle (''stred'') day in the week. The Slovak Super Liga is the top level football league in Slovakia, currently known as the Fortuna Liga due to a sponsorship arrangement. It was formed in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia. The record for most titles is eleven, held by Slovan Bratislava, who are the current title holders. The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship, commonly referred to as UEFA Euro 2008 or simply Euro 2008, was the 13th UEFA European Championship, a quadrennial football tournament contested by the member nations of UEFA (the Union of European Football Associations).
