Baltic Soul Weekender
The Baltic Soul Weekender is an annual music festival with a maximum attendance of 4,700 visitors held for the first time in 2007. The Baltic Soul Weekender offers a musical journey through the past decades of music: soul, funk, soulful house and disco. In addition to live acts, the visitor can also listen to well-known djs. It is Germany's only weekender that includes accommodation at the festival location. The festival was founded by the disc jockey and event manager Daniel Dombrowe (Dan D.). Location From 2007 to 2013 the location was 120 km north of Hamburg, Germany, at the Holidayparc Weissenhäuser Strand at the Baltic Sea. From 2014 to 2016 the event took place at the Center Parc Bispinger Heide. In November 2014, a one-time dj weekender was held. After the previously organizing Soul Weekender GmbH had to file for bankruptcy in 2015, the agency Four Artists from Berlin has organized the Baltic Soul Weekender since 2016. Omar Christopher Lye-Fook MBE (born 14 October 1968), known professionally as Omar, is an English singer, songwriter and actor. He grew up in Canterbury, Kent and learned his craft classically, playing the trumpet, piano and percussion. Carlton George Douglas (born 10 May 1942) is a Jamaican recording artist based in the UK who is best known for the 1974 disco single "Kung Fu Fighting". Early life Carlton George Douglas was born in Kingston, Colony of Jamaica. He later lived in the U.S. state of California before relocating to London, England as a teenager. Eddie Piller
Eddie Piller is a British DJ, radio show host, and founder/managing director of Acid Jazz Records. Early life and career Piller was born in 1962 and grew up in Essex. His father ran a firm of bookmakers and his mother ran the Small Faces' fan club during their early years. As a teenager in the 1970s, Piller became interested in the punk scene, and was a fan of the Buzzcocks before following the mod-revival of the late '70s and early '80s. He credits bands such as the Chords, the Jam and Secret Affair for sparking his love of all things mod, indirectly beginning his career in music.
