The 2005 Baltic Cup football competition took place without one of the usual contenders in this Baltic states' championship: Estonia. Mihails Zemļinskis ( uk, Михайло Валерійович Землинський; born 21 December 1969) is a Latvian politician and former professional footballer. He played as a centre-back or sweeper, making over 100 appearances for the Latvia national team. Football career Zemļinskis spent most of his career at Skonto FC except for short periods at FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk, at BVSC Budapest and at Hapoel Kfar Saba. He was a skilled central defender and played for the Latvia national team after country regained its independence in 1991. He played 105 matches and scored 12 goals for the national team, and took part in the 2004 European Championships in Portugal. Zemļinskis wore the number 4 jersey. Algimantas Liubinskas (born 4 November 1951 in Kybartai) is a former head coach of the Lithuania national football team. Football At 31 years old, Liubinskas became the youngest ever coach of the Soviet Supreme League team Žalgiris Vilnius (which he coached from April 1983 to April 1985). In 1991, Algimantas Liubinskas was named the head coach of the Lithuanian national team, restored after Soviet occupation. Despite wins against Slovenia and Ukraine in 1994 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Liubinskas was fired in 1995 after an argument with the Lithuanian Football Federation. Ricardas Beniušis (born 23 April 1980) is a Lithuanian footballer. Beniušis started his career with Inkaras Kaunas in his homeland, returning there after short spells with Russian clubs Baltika Kaliningrad and Krylya Sovetov Samara. Tomas Radzinevičius (born 5 June 1981) is a Lithuanian former professional footballer who played as a striker. Radzinevičius played for eleven different clubs throughout his career. He started professional career for a local side Sūduva and later moved to clubs in Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. He returned to Sūduva before 2013 season, where he took over captaincy. Andrius Velička (born 5 April 1979) is a Lithuanian retired professional association footballer who played as a striker for clubs in Russia, Kazakhstan, Scotland, England, Norway and Azerbaijan in addition to his homeland.
