Baloch Americans
Baloch Americans are Americans of Baloch descent. A 2015 eight-part documentary by VSH News, the first Balochi language news channel, called ''Balochs in America'', shows that Baloch Americans live in different parts of the United States, including Washington D.C., New York, Texas, North Carolina and Washington. Many Baloch Americans come from Pakistan, both from Balochistan province and Karachi city and elsewhere in Pakistan. Others come from the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan. Many Baloch Americans work at nonprofits, information technology companies and in the public sector. Political activism Baloch Americans are politically active in dealing with issues concerning the Baloch population in Iran and Pakistan. Baloch Tribe
The Baloch or Baluch ( bal, بلۏچ, Balòc) are an Iranian people who live mainly in the Balochistan region, located at the southeasternmost edge of the Iranian plateau, encompassing the countries of Pakistan, Iran, and Afghanistan. There are also Baloch diaspora communities in neighbouring regions, including in India, Turkmenistan, and the Arabian Peninsula. The Baloch people mainly speak Balochi, a Northwestern Iranian language, despite their contrasting location on the southeastern side of the Persosphere. The majority of Baloch reside within Pakistan. About 50% of the total ethnic Baloch population live in the Pakistani province of Balochistan, while 40% are settled in Sindh and a significant albeit smaller number reside in Pakistani Punjab. Noon Meem Danish
Noor Mohammed Danish ( ur, ; born 1958), also known as Noon Meem Danish, is a Pakistani poet of African and Baloch descent. Early life and education Danish was born in 1958 in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan to a working-class family. He was raised in Lyari, a largely Sheedi neighbourhood, which he describes as "Karachi's Harlem". He did his early education at the Okhai Memon School in Kharadar, and began writing poetry in 1974. His African appearance often led people around him to assume he was a foreigner; he describes being asked frequently where he was from and why he spoke Urdu so well. Baloch Council Of North America
Baloch Council of North America (BCNA) is a non-partisan, non-profit advocacy organization in the United States that seeks to "unite all Baloch people and secure Baloch rights, including the right of self-determination, within the Pakistani Federation." BCNA is one of several politically active organizations with roots in the Baloch diaspora, working alongside the Baloch Unity in Russia, and the Baloch Voice Foundation in France. History BCNA was originally founded as BSO-NA or ''Baloch Society of North America'' in 2004 by Dr. Wahid Baloch in Washington D.C.. Mahnoor Baloch (born 15 February 1970) is an American-born Canadian Pakistani actress, film director and former model. Baloch made her television debut in 1993 with the drama serial ''Marvi'' aired on PTV. She is often praised by critics for her fitness and younger looks on-screen. Career Baloch appeared in the TV commercials of well known brand names. In 1993, she made her acting debut in the TV serial (PTV Drama) Marvi which was directed by Sultana Siddiqui. Malik Siraj Akbar ( ur, ) is an ethnic Baloch journalist based in the United States. He is the editor-in-chief of the ''Baluch Hal'', the first online English language newspaper of Pakistan's Balochistan Province, ''Enkaar'', a liberal Urdu language news magazine, and a contributing writer for The Huffington Post. Baloch National Movement
The Baloch National Movement is a Baloch nationalist political organization which was led by Ghulam Mohammed Baloch, who served as the organizations's president before his murder in April 2009. History In 1987, the educated Baloch youth created Baloch National Youth Movement, which aimed at raising awareness about Balochistan's independence. Its leader Fida Ahmed was killed in 1988, allegedly on the orders of Pakistan military. After his murder, the most senior leaders of the group— Dr Malik (incumbent Chief Minister of Balochistan and Dr Hai Baloch) decided to take part in Pakistan's parliamentary politics. White House
The White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States.
