Balmain Australian Football Club is a NSWFL foundation Australian Football club competing in the Sydney AFL Premier League and based out of the Sydney suburb of Balmain. The team train at Glover st Oval in Lilyfield from 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Home games are currently at HJ Mahoney Park in Marrickville. History The club formed in 1903 as the ''Balmain Football Club'', a founding member of the Sydney Football League. The Tigers won the Sydney AFL flag most recently in 2014. Famous players Jack Ashley played for Balmain before being recruited by , taking part in the clubs 1913 Championship of Australia victory and winning the Magarey Medal the following year. AFL Sydney is an Australian rules football League, based in metropolitan Sydney, Australia. The AFL Sydney competition comprises 126 teams from 22 clubs which play across seven senior men's divisions, five women's divisions, a Master's Division and two under 19 competitions in season 2022. The Victorian Football League (VFL) is an Australian rules football league in Australia serving as one of the second-tier regional semi-professional competitions which sit underneath the fully professional Australian Football League (AFL). It includes teams from clubs based in the eastern states of Australia: Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, and includes reserves teams for the east coast AFL clubs. The league evolved from the former Victorian Football Association (VFA), and it has been known by its current name since 1996. The West Coast Eagles are a professional Australian rules football club based in Perth, Western Australia. The club was founded in 1986 as one of two expansion teams in the Australian Football League (AFL), then known as the Victorian Football League. The club plays its home games at Perth Stadium and has its headquarters at Lathlain Park. The West Australian Football Commission wholly owns the West Coast Eagles and the Fremantle Football Club, the AFL's other Western Australian team. Ray Hall (footballer)
Ray Hall (born 27 October 1980) is a former Australian rules football player who played for the Richmond Football Club. Hall grew up in New South Wales, playing for the Balmain Australian Football Club before moving to Woy Woy where he was recruited by the Tigers having played in the Under 18s state squad. Hall played 99 games for the Richmond Tigers, predominantly as a ruckman. Hall announced his retirement on 28 August 2007 because a hip injury ruled him out for the 2007 season. In 2008, Hall spent 12 months as an Australian Government sponsored volunteer in Papua New Guinea, on the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD) program, assisting in sports development in PNG. This has included coaching PNG's Under 18 Australian Rules Football League (AFL) Team, the Kupundas. North Melbourne Football Club
The North Melbourne Football Club, nicknamed the Kangaroos, is a professional Australian rules football club. The men's team competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), and the women's team in the AFL Women's (AFLW). The Kangaroos also field a reserves men's team in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Paul Feltham
Paul Feltham (born 1 October 1948) is a sport psychologist and former Australian rules footballer and coach. He is best known for a short stint as caretaker senior coach of the Brisbane Bears in 1989. Playing career Early in his career, Feltham played for Box Hill in the VFA in 1967, Eastlake Football Club in the ACTAFL and Balmain Football Club in the NSWAFL. His talent was his tough, courageous determination and his quick handball. Feltham played as a winger and midfielder North Melbourne from 1970 to 1976. He played in the 1974 VFL Grand Final and was one of the best players in North Melbourne Football Club's first Premiership in 1975. The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Between its inception in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond in 1885 and 1907, the club competed in the Victorian Football Association (VFA), winning two premierships.
