	Ballynoe, County Down Ballynoe () is a settlement and townland south of Downpatrick in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is situated in the civil parish of Bright and historic barony of Lecale Upper. Archaeology The main feature in the hamlet is Ballynoe stone circle, a late Neolithic to early Bronze age large circle of over fifty closely spaced upright stones, surrounding a mound which, when excavated, was found to contain two cists in which cremated bones were found. The site is near the disused railway station, reached by a long footpath off the main road, at grid ref: J481404. Transport Ballynoe railway station, on the Belfast and County Down Railway, opened on 8 July 1892, but finally closed on 16 January 1950. 	Ballynoe, Kinnatalloon Ballynoe ( ga, An Baile Nua) is a village in the barony of Kinnatalloon, County Cork, in Ireland. It gives its name to a civil parish and electoral division. The 2011 census gave its population as 146. St Catherine's is the local Gaelic Athletic Association team. Located within a graveyard, which contains a ruined medieval church, is a freestanding mausoleum, built in the early 1800s for Elizabeth Nason. 	Ballynoe, Great Island Ballynoe ( ga, An Baile Nua) is a townland and suburb of Cobh on Great Island in County Cork. It was extensively developed in the Celtic Tiger era. Transport Ballynoe is north of Rushbrooke on the R624 road which runs alongside the channel connecting Lough Mahon to lower Cork Harbour and separating Great Island from Monkstown on the mainland. The cross-river car ferry from Monkstown docks on the R624 just north of Ballynoe. A railway station at Ballynoe on the Cork–Cobh railway line was proposed in 1993 and included in the 1998 Cobh Action Area Plan and the 20-year strategy plan published in 2001, but considered unfeasible in 2002. It was in the 2009 county development plan, but postponed in 2010 because of Ireland's financial crisis. In 2019, the "Cork Metropolitan Area Draft Transport Strategy 2040", a public consultation document published by the National Transport Authority, included Ballynoe among six proposed suburban stations.
