Ballygunge Court (film)
''Ballygunge Court'' is a 2007 Bengali film directed by Pinaki Chaudhuri and produced by Ganesh Bagaria. The film starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Mithu Chakraborty, Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Mamata Shankar and Tanusree Shankar in the lead roles. It won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. Plot The plot revolves with three family in an apartment named Ballygunge Court. Younger generation of the families wants to leave their old house leaving their parents. Pinaki Chaudhuri
Pinaki Chaudhuri পিনাকী চৌধুরী (19 September 1940 – 24 October 2022) was an Indian academic and film director. Career Chaudhuri started his career as a tabla player, trained by Ustad Kermatullah Khan and accompanied the Legend Pandit Ravi Shankar in London. Chaudhuri's academic career spanned from studying Physics at Jadavpur University culminating in exposure to Electrical engineering course at London University. He entered the film world initially as a producer and subsequently as a director. His journey as a filmmaker included several acclaimed telefilms and feature films. He was awarded with two National Awards for the Best Feature Film in Bengali, first one in 1996 for ''Shonghaath'' and again in 2007 for '' Ballygunge Court''. Soumitra Chatterjee (also spelt as Chattopadhyay; 16 June 193515 November 2020) was an Indian film actor, play-director, playwright, writer, thespian and poet. Sabyasachi Chakrabarty is an Indian actor of Bengali theatre, theatre, Indian cinema, films and Television in India, television. He is best known for portraying iconic Bengali detective characters, Feluda, and Kakababu. Personal life His parents, Jagadish Chandra Chakrabarty and Monica Chakrabarty, used to call him "Benu."
