Balloonatic
''The Balloonatic'' is a 1923 American short comedy film co-directed by and starring Buster Keaton. It was one of Keaton's final short films. Plot A young man named Keaton has a series of encounters in an amusement area, much like Coney Island. Whilst exploring the area, he finds a man trying to set up a hot air balloon ride. He heads to the man, who asks him if he could help put the hot air balloon together. Once they were done, the man kindly awards Keaton with a small chunk of toffee. Keaton immediately eats the toffee, and starts to inflate. His body becomes the balloon part of the hot air balloon, and he stays that way. Phyllis Haver
Phyllis Maude Haver (January 6, 1899 – November 19, 1960) was an American actress of the silent film era. Early life Haver was born in Douglass, Kansas to James Hiram Haver (1872–1936) and Minnie Shanks Malone (1879–1949). When she was young, her family moved to Los Angeles, California. Haver attended Los Angeles Polytechnic High. After graduating, she played piano to accompany the new silent films in local theaters. Career Haver auditioned for comedy producer Mack Sennett on a whim. Sennett hired her as one of his original Sennett Bathing Beauties. Within a few years, she appeared as a leading lady in two-reelers for Sennett Studios. In 1923, Buster Keaton cast her as the female lead in his short ''The Balloonatic''. Later, while signed with DeMille-Pathé, Haver played the part of murderess Roxie Hart in the first film adaptation of ''Chicago'' in 1927, opposite Hungarian film actor Victor Varconi. Babe London (born Jean Glover, August 28, 1901 – November 29, 1980) was an American actress and comedian, most remembered for her one-time partnership with Oliver Hardy in the 1931 Laurel and Hardy two-reeler ''Our Wife''. Career London was born in 1901 in Des Moines, Iowa. Her parents were Dr. David James Glover and Ruth Glover. After the family moved to California, London attended San Diego High School. London began her screen career as a teenager making her film debut in ''The Expert Eloper'' in 1919. She then appeared in '' A Day's Pleasure'', performing opposite Charlie Chaplin. The two played seasick tourists on an excursion boat. She had the role of Rosy Leadbetter in ''Merely Mary Ann'' (1920).
