Balloom
Balloom is an independent Japanese record label that was created in 2011. Until 2013, it focused on releasing music by musicians who were popular on video streaming service Niconico Douga, especially those who used Vocaloid software, and people who created Dōjin music. History Balloom was created in March 2011 by Toku P, who asked seven other musicians who were popular on Niconico Douga in 2009 to join the label. Four founding members of the label, Wowaka, Toku, Fullkawa Honpo and Hachi (Kenshi Yonezu) formed a production collective called ''Estlabo'' to work on the ending theme song of the anime '' Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day'', a cover of Zone's "Secret Base (Kimi ga Kureta Mono)" sung by voice actresses Ai Kayano, Haruka Tomatsu and Saori Hayami. Diorama (Kenshi Yonezu Album)
''diorama'' is the first album by Japanese musician Kenshi Yonezu, which was released on May 16, 2012. It was the first studio album released under his real name, and the first to use his own voice as opposed to his Vocaloid albums released under the name Hachi. The album was one of the top independent releases in Japan in 2012, and was one of the winners of the 5th CD Shop Awards. Background and development Yonezu first released music on the Internet using Vocaloid software, and uploaded videos to the video steaming website Nico Nico Douga from 2009 until 2011. Wowaka
Wowaka (stylized as wowaka, ; 4 November 19875 April 2019), also known as Genjitsutouhi-P (), was a Japanese musician. Considered to be a pioneer in the Vocaloid industry, wowaka was internationally acclaimed for his musical work over a career spanning a decade. Wowaka began his career in 2009, debuting with the song He later co-founded the record label Balloom in 2011, and in the same year released his debut album , which placed 6th on the Oricon Charts and is an influential work in the Vocaloid industry. Following this, he formed the band Hitorie as the lead vocalist and guitarist, and continued work there for the rest of his career. On 5 April 2019, at the age of 31, he died due to heart failure. Fullkawa Honpo
, is a Japanese musician, who began releasing Vocaloid music under the name in 2009. After self-releasing Vocaloid music and self-cover extended plays using his own voice, he debuted under independent label Balloom using the name Fullkawa Honpo in 2011. Biography Fullkawa Honpo is from Osaka Prefecture, Japan. When he was 14, he joined his first band, a Visual-kei band specialising in metal. He joined a guitar rock group at university, and after finishing university decided to continue to be a musician, having difficulties finding other types of work. He continued with that band, and the group moved to Tokyo for their CD debut. However, when Fullkawa Honpo was in his mid 20s, the band split before they managed to debut, and he remained in Tokyo to work as a designer. Vocaloid
is a singing voice synthesizer software product. Its signal processing part was developed through a joint research project led by Kenmochi Hideki at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, Spain, in 2000 and was not originally intended to be a full commercial project. Backed by the Yamaha Corporation, it developed the software into the commercial product "Vocaloid" that was released in 2004. The software enables users to synthesize "singing" by typing in lyrics and melody and also "speech" by typing in the script of the required words. It uses synthesizing technology with specially recorded vocals of voice actors or singers. To create a song, the user must input the melody and lyrics. A piano roll type interface is used to input the melody and the lyrics can be entered on each note. is a Japanese musician, singer-songwriter, record producer and illustrator who began releasing Vocaloid music under the stage name in 2009. In 2012, he debuted under his real name, releasing music with his own voice. He has sold at least 4.2 million physical copies and more than 7 million digital copies in Japan.
