Ballinteer () is a small southside suburb of Dublin, located in Dún Laoghaire–Rathdown, Ireland, extensively developed from the late 1960s onwards. Geography Ballinteer is located approximately from the city centre. To the west is Rathfarnham, to the east is Sandyford and Stepaside, to the south are the Dublin Mountains, and to the north is Dundrum. Ballinteer is also bordered by the Marlay Park. History Ballinteer originally consisted of some housing groups off Ballinteer Avenue (Mayfield Terrace, Ballinteer Gardens, and Ballinteer Park), built between the 1920s and 1950s, and locally referred to as 'Old Ballinteer'. Ludford Estate was built in the late 1960s, followed by Ballinteer Drive, Grove, Crescent, Close. Wicklow Mountains
The Wicklow Mountains (, archaic: ''Cualu'') form the largest continuous upland area in the Republic of Ireland. They occupy the whole centre of County Wicklow and stretch outside its borders into the counties of Dublin, Wexford and Carlow. Where the mountains extend into County Dublin, they are known locally as the Dublin Mountains (''Sléibhte Bhaile Átha Cliath''). The highest peak is Lugnaquilla at . The mountains are primarily composed of granite surrounded by an envelope of mica-schist and much older rocks such as quartzite. Richard Sadlier (born 14 January 1979, in Dublin) is an Irish former professional footballer and former CEO of St Patrick's Athletic. Since retirement from the professional game he has worked as a pundit with RTÉ Sport. Club career He began his career at youth level with Leicester Celtic and Belvedere before joining Millwall F.C. Glen Fitzpatrick (born 26 January 1981 in Dublin) is an Irish former football player who is the current Director of Football at Broadford Rovers in the Leinster Senior League (association football).
