Ballinakill, County Galway

Fish in this harbour include salmon, pollock and mackerel. A trip on a glass bottomed boat allows visitors to view the wildlife and scenery. A small museum (Oceans Alive) helps visitors to find out more about the area and its history. The harbour can be reached by turning towards Tully Cross at Letterfrack from the N59. Ballinakill is the final home and resting place of the Jacobite "Strong Ned" O'Flaherty. Letterfrack
Letterfrack or Letterfrac () is a small village in the Connemara area of County Galway, Ireland. It was founded by Quakers in the mid-19th century. The village is south-east of Renvyle peninsula and north-east of Clifden on Barnaderg Bay and lies at the head of Ballinakill harbour. Letterfrack contains the visitors centre for Connemara National Park. History James and Mary Ellis, a Quaker couple from Bradford in England, moved to Letterfrack, during the Great Famine. Ellis became the resident landlord in Letterfrack in 1849. As Quakers, the Ellises wanted to help with the post-famine relief effort. They leased nearly of rough land and set about farming it and planting it with woodland. They built a schoolhouse, housing for tradesmen, a shop, a dispensary, and a temperance hotel. In 1857 the property was sold to John Hall, a staunch Protestant, and supporter of the Irish Church Mission to Roman Catholics. N59 Road
The N59 road is a national secondary road in Ireland. It commences in County Sligo, south of Sligo Town at the Belladrehid interchange with the N4 north of Ballysadare. The route circles around the west of Ireland, passing west from Sligo into County Mayo and through Ballina. The N59 continues around Mayo, proceeding indirectly to Westport. Continuing south through Mayo into County Galway, the road passes through the village of Leenaun. The 182-year-old bridge in the centre of the village, carrying the road across the River Lahill, collapsed in floods on 18 July 2007. Due to the local terrain and road network, the diversionary route for getting from the south of the village to Westport was 110 km long. Eamonn Laidir Ó Flaithbertaigh
Edmond O'Flaherty (Irish:''Eamonn Laidir Ó Flaithbertaigh'', died 1749) was an Irish Jacobite. Biography Ned Flahert was the grandson of Edmond mac Morogha na Maor and Morogh na Mart Ó Flaithbertaigh, sons of Morogh na Maor Ó Flaithbertaigh, (died 1627, who was the last substantial chief of the O'Flaherty clan. Both brothers fought in the Irish Confederate Wars. O'Flaherty's epithet of ''Laidir'' (''strong Ned'') left a strong impression in Connemara folk memory, with several anecdotes relating to his strength. In particular, he was remembered for his frequent combats with his neighbour, Captain Richard Martin. Martin had fought with the Jacobites in the war, but had managed to obtain a pardon from William III, enabling him to keep title to several estates in Connemara. Tully Mountain, , is a prominent, steep-sided monadnock located in north central Massachusetts in the town of Orange, Massachusetts, Orange. It is part of the Tully Mountain Wilderness Management Area. An exposed east facing ledge on the summit provides views of the Millers River valley, Mount Monadnock, Mount Wachusett, and the Wapack Range. The Tully Trail traverses the mountain.
