Balli Kalyanachakravarthy (born 7 June 1984), also referred to as Balli Kalyan Chakravarthy, is an Indian businessman and politician who has served in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council since 2021 as a member of the YSR Congress Party. Kalyanachakravarthy is from the town of Gudur in the Nellore district. He co-founded the company Nihibha Online Business Private Limited in 2015. Kalyanachakravarthy's father is Balli Durga Prasad Rao, a longtime member of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly who had been elected to the Lok Sabha in 2019, representing the Tirupati constituency. Cecilia Ballí (born April 21, 1976) is an American journalist and anthropologist who writes about the borderlands of Texas, security and immigration. She is a writer-at-large for Texas Monthly, and has been published in Harper’s Magazine and The New York Times Magazine as an independent journalist. She has been an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin and from 1998 to 2000 was a staff writer at the San Antonio Express-News. Early life Ballí was born on April 21, 1976, in Brownsville, Texas. She is the daughter of Antonia and Cristobal Balli, immigrants from Mexico. Padre Ballí (ca. 1770–1829), also known as José Nicolás Ballí, was a rancher, a priest, and an original grantee of Padre Island, which was named after him. However, when he owned the island, it was known as the ''Isla de Santiago'' land grant. Padre Island had been granted to his grandfather, Nicolás Ballí in 1759, by King Charles III of Spain, and Padre Ballí requested a clear title to the property in 1827. Balli Dam
The Balli Dam is a gravity dam under construction on the Ortasu River (a tributary of the Hezil River) in Uludere district of Şırnak Province, southeast Turkey. Under contract from Turkey's State Hydraulic Works, construction on the dam began in 2008 and a completion date has not been announced. The reported purpose of the dam is water storage and it can also support an 8.36 MW hydroelectric power station in the future. Another purpose of the dam which has been widely reported in the Turkish press is to reduce the freedom of movement of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants. Blocking and flooding valleys in close proximity to the Iraq–Turkey border is expected to help curb cross-border PKK smuggling and deny caves in which ammunition can be stored.
