Ballerup Municipality
Ballerup Kommune () is a municipality ( da, kommune) in ''Region Hovedstaden'' on the island of Zealand (''Sjælland'') in eastern Denmark. It is located approximately 15 kilometers from central Copenhagen. The municipality covers an area of 34.09 km², and has a population of 48,231 (1. January 2017). It is also the name of the municipal seat, Ballerup. Overview As of November 2020, the mayor is Jesper Würtzen of the Social Democrats. Other than Ballerup, the towns that make up the municipality are Måløv and Skovlunde. Neighboring municipalities are Herlev to the east, Furesø to the north, Egedal to the west, and Albertslund and Glostrup to the south. The geography of Ballerup municipality was not affected on January 1, 2007, by the nationwide ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007). Skovlunde
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigationJump to search Skovlunde is a small Danish town in Ballerup Municipality and is a suburb of Copenhagen (12 km west of downtown Copenhagen). Skovlunde has approximately 12.000 inhabitants and is on the Copenhagen S-train network. Ballerup Municipality has approximately 50.000 inhabitants. Overview The town was founded in the Middle Ages and first appears in written material (a letter) dating back to 11 November 1249. Skovlunde consist of two parts, the older ''Gammel Skovlunde'' where you can find housing dating back from the seventeenth century and up to the eighteenth century. The other part of Skovlunde is the product of people relocating from Copenhagen in the 1960s and a lot of newly built residential areas. Danish People's Party
The Danish People's Party ( da, Dansk Folkeparti, DPP/DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The DPP lent its support to the Venstre– Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. While not part of the cabinet, DPP cooperated closely with the governing coalition on most issues and received support for key political stances in return, to the point that the government was commonly referred to as the "VKO-government" (O being DPP's election symbol). It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name.
