Balkan Romani, Balkaniko Romanes, or Balkan Gypsy is a specific non-Vlax Romani language, Vlax dialect of the Romani language, spoken by groups within the Balkans, which include countries such as Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Republic of Macedonia, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey etc. The Balkan Romani language is typically an oral language. History Most of the people who speak Balkan Romani are Romani themselves. Another meaning of the prefix ''rom'' is someone belonging to the Romani ethnicity. The Romani people are ultimately of Indian origin. Speakers of the Balkan Romani language have constantly migrated throughout the years into all parts of Europe. Romani (; also Romany, Romanes , Roma; rom, rromani ćhib, links=no) is an Indo-Aryan macrolanguage of the Romani communities. According to '' Ethnologue'', seven varieties of Romani are divergent enough to be considered languages of their own. The largest of these are Vlax Romani (about 500,000 speakers), Balkan Romani (600,000), and Sinte Romani (300,000). Some Romani communities speak mixed languages based on the surrounding language with retained Romani-derived vocabulary – these are known by linguists as Para-Romani varieties, rather than dialects of the Romani language itself. The differences between the various varieties can be as large as, for example, the differences between the Slavic languages. Rumelian Romani is a dialect of Southern Romani of strong Turkish pronunciation with Turkish and Greek loanwords, once was spoken by the Turkish-Muslim Roma (Xoraxane) in Ottoman Rumelia, especially by the Sedentary Rumelian Romani people of various groups in Edirne in East Thrace First described by Evliya Çelebi's Seyahatname in 1668, of the Muslim Roma in Gümülcine, and later by William Marsden in 1785 and by Alexandros Georgios Paspatis (Paspati), a scholar of the Romani language in 1870. Zargari Romani
Zargari (or Romāno) is a dialect of Balkan Romani, spoken in Zargar region (Abyek district) of the Qazvin Province of in Iran by the ethnic Zargari people. The language can be found in surrounding regions as well. It is one of the only Indo-Aryan languages still spoken in Iran, and is considered endangered. Zargari takes its name from the Persian word for "goldsmith" ( ''zargar''). Sepečides Romani
Sepečides Romani also known as Sevlengere Roma (meaning "basket(weaving) Roma" is the Romani dialect of the traditionally basketweaving Roma, originally from Thessaloniki (regional unit), in Greece. Their ancestors live there as Nomads during the Ottoman Empire until the Population exchange between Greece and Turkey, The dialect has many Greek and Turkish loanwords. It belongs to the Southern Balkan group of Romani language dialects although the RomArchive claims the language is practically extinct. The loanword verb markers in Romani "are often Greek derived markers, maintained even when contact with Greek has ceased." Linguist Petra Cech published a monograph codifying this dialect in 1996. Many of the Sepečides from Greece live in Izmir, where their descendants speak only Turkish. The Sepečides dialect is considered to be non-Vlach.
