Balintore is a small farming community in south west Victoria, Australia. It is approximately 15 km north of Colac. The Shire of Colac Otway is a local government area in the Barwon South West region of Victoria, Australia, located in the south-western part of the state. It covers an area of and in June 2018 had a population of 21,503. It includes the towns of Apollo Bay, Beeac, Beech Forest, Birregurra, Colac, Cressy, Forrest, Johanna, Kennett River, Lavers Hill, Warrion and Wye River. It came into existence on 23 September 1994 through the amalgamation of the local government areas of City of Colac, Shire of Colac, part of the Shire of Otway and part of the Shire of Heytesbury. Lake Colac, a freshwater lake of the Western District Lakes, is located north of the Colac town centre in Victoria, Australia. A yacht club and rowing club are located adjacent to the lake's shore. During the summer months, water skiers have access to the lake's facilities, and many birds may be found on the lake's surface and in the area. ''Lepidium aschersonii'', also known as spiny peppercress, is a species of plant in the cabbage family. It is native to mainland southern Australia. Description The species grows as a perennial herb up to about 30 cm in height. It has intricately branched stems; the smaller branches are spiny, and the whole plant becomes spinier with increasing age and aridity. The leaves may be up to 12 cm long at the base of the plant and but smaller farther up the stem. The inflorescence is an inconspicuous greenish raceme terminating in a spine. The flowers are less than a millimetre long. The fruits are oval pods 3.5–4.5 cm long by 2.5–3 cm wide.
