Bali Museum
The Bali Museum is a museum of art and history located in Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia. Description The museum was built in 1931 by architect P.J. Moojen, near the location of the former royal palace of Denpasar, which had been burnt to the ground during the Dutch intervention in Bali (1906), and used it as a model for its outside walls and courtyards.''Bali and Lombok'', pp. 62–62. There are four main buildings inside the museum, ''Tabanan'' displaying theatrical masks and musical instruments, ''Karangasem'' sculptures and paintings, ''Buleleng'' textiles, and ''Timur'' with archeological finds. Dutch Intervention In Bali (1906)
The Dutch intervention in Bali in 1906 was a Dutch military intervention in Bali as part of the Dutch colonial suppression, killing over 1,000 people, most of whom were civilians. It was part of the Dutch campaign for the suppression of most of the Netherlands East-Indies. The campaign killed the Balinese rulers of Badung and their wives and children, as well as destroying the southern Bali kingdoms of Badung and Tabanan and weakening the kingdom of Klungkung. It was the sixth Dutch military intervention in Bali. Acintya (from Sanskrit: अचिन्त्य, "the inconceivable", "the unimaginable"), also known as Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa ( Balinese: "The Divine Order") and Sang Hyang Tunggal ("The Divine Oneness"), is the Supreme God of Indonesian Hinduism (formally known as ''Agama Hindu Dharma''), especially on the island of Bali.
